the mom

I was so impressed by the character of the mom.
She did a wonderful job of balancing between being protective and letting Dylan do what he needed to do, even though it involved being out of her protection. She clearly loved him very deeply, but respected him as an individual, and was willing to let him go when that was best for him.
I don't think most people in that position would be so strong, unselfish, and wise.

I've only seen Cynthia Nixon in her Sex and the City role, I thought she was very good. And I like it that she was willing to be seen looking like a mess at times.
