an amazing movie

I thought this has to be the best presentation of the soldiers in Iraq. What an amazing movie. It really got down and showed the day to day life of soldiers and what they are going up against in Iraq.

I agree. I thought the re-enlistment meeting was particularly eye-opening.

It was also nice to see a documentary about the war that was un-biased. Whether people like the Bush administration or hate the Bush administration, they will still like the film.

Joey: Oh, I'm sorry. Did I get you?
Chandler: It's an electric drill! You "get" me, you kill me!

I too agree, this documentary was very good, I especially liked the ending montage with marines laying siege to the city. Somewhat graphic there, but thats just the way it was there. Anyway, really great movie.

This film mesmorized and horrified me in such a way as should everyone in the western world be mesmorized and horrified. We need to wake up and smell the fascism around us, too often watching the soldiers go about the innocent iraqi's was i reminded of the Nazi occupational forces going about the innocent people of Europe, the helmets are a dead give away, at any rate. Very dreamlike aroma to the film as well. A strong statement of what war is is a strong statement against war to all but the very misled, and this was a blatant statement of what the Iraqi people are dealing with, and the success of the brainwashing implanted in the soldiers who put those Iraqi's in such a desperate fix.

I can't appreciate someone drawing comparisons between US forces and brainwashed Nazis. The soldiers are disciplined and they are in a desperate fix, not the Iraqis. There are simply not enough soldiers to create an imposing enough presence in Iraq to squash the violence outright. As a result, they have to focus first on survival. To keep from getting blown up all the time, the soldiers have to respond in a violent way to challenges from insurgents. And wear Nazi helmets to keep shrapnel out of their brains.

Yes realmikewebster is a bit of a bleeding heart.

I was going to give this movie 10 minutes and wound up watching the entire thing then coming here to learn more. A really nicely done doc that shows you a lot about today's military and soldiers, the good and the bad, and really makes the viewer empahtize and sympathize with what they are going through on a day to day basis. They are honest and forthright and even when they disagree you can tell they have a real sense of honor and brotherhood. I hope they are all healthy and doing well.

let's not go too far, while being realistic, i thought it was pretty damn biased against the war effort. i'm glad they lay siege to the town and won it over.
