The character he played was so vivid. He's a man, an engineer, very confident in his intelligence. He's got a big chip on his shoulder about his family being dead, as you would do. Throughout the film he believes he is also going to die, and understandably, this makes him really really angry. Who can fail to sympathize with this person?
