well, there is one advantage to having this condition

Admittedly, this condition is one of the most crushing blows to an evolutionary mechanism you could possibly imagine. But think; wouldn't someone with this condition make the best spy/covert ops worker ever? You could torture them forever and they would never talk. (And yes, I know there's ways of coericion besides pain, but they wouldn't necessarily know)
I know that sounded moronic, but I mean, if someone if inflicting pain purposely on you, wouldn't it be good to have this?
