Here ya' go:
Boy romances girl for mysterious reasons, buying her clothes, a sumptuous meal, and a saxaphone (no, really). At the end of the day he reveals he is the formerly fat schoolmate who bullied her 16 years before. She leaves abruptly. The next day he explains that he bullied her because he _liked_ her. They kiss. THE END.

It's a nice character study, kind of the dark side of BEFORE SUNRISE.

Re availability, I saw it on the Sundance Channel in the wee hours this morning.

reply

It's available through Netflix, mail and instant view. I can't believe this film was released in 2006. I'd never heard of it but the trailer showed up in previews for 3 or 4 other DVDs I had watched recently. Not as fantastic as I'd thought it'd be but still a nice little movie. At least worth seeing once.

Maybe this mattress will spin on its axis and find me on yours.

Request for elaboration: It was on Sundance Channel this morning, and I left the room briefly about 1 minute before the end. He was in the shop, and she was out of view telling him that she felt humiliated. What happened after that, in the remaining minute or less, before your last sentence? Did the man or the girl behind the counter say something to her, or what?

reply

Seriously, you're asking me to remember one minute from a movie I watched 6 months ago? Sorry, but I can't help you, my memory doesn't work that way. You'll have to watch for it to be broadcast again, or get the DVD from amazon.com:

Best of luck to ya'.

DO NOT READ SPOILERS!

And as for you twits who are writing them, shame on you. Don't you think people should have the same fresh experience you had?

This is a charming and entertaining film. One of it's biggest charms is that we are just at sea as the main character as to what will happen and the motivation.

Normally I'm extremely anti-spoiler. But this person ASKED for a spoiler, which was clearly labeled, and I am glad she was answered. Even if I hadn't also been looking for one, it's what she wanted so I'm glad someone answered. Despite my normally anti-spoiler attitude, I've had this movie from Netflix sitting around for weeks. The mood I've been in lately, I really just couldn't make myself watch it if the end twist was depressing.
It's bad enough to judge people, but to actively SCOLD people who only gave a well-labeled spoiler to someone who wanted one? That's ridiculous. Be respectful please.

Netflix has it ? i have been looking for it all over the place granted i wanted the spoiler but i wanted to know how it was before i went the length of buying a dvd full retail price without knowing it was good or not becasue where i live all the video stores are closed up. redbox is the only solution except that they dont have movies like that.so thank you

Since IMDB has the option to post spoilers, and protection for those who chose not to read spoilers, what's your problem? Folks aren't twits just because they respond to someone's sincere request. If you, or someone else doesn't want to read the spoiler, simply don't browse over the spoiler blackout.
