Are there any PC games like this film?

Are there any PC games like this film? You know a racing game but with machine guns and mines etc

Actually this movie reminded me a lot of an old game called "Quarantine" (it predates "Carmageddon"). You drove a taxi and you could buy all kinds of weapon upgrades. You started out in a prison as well.

There are a bunch... a shame I can't remember anyone by name except "Mario Kart" (which has the same game play but a lot more child-friendly atmosphere).

Death Rally, this really old DOS game, but it wasn't very graphic. Still, you could pick up ammo and drop landmines and things.

This movie is totally taken from the game Carmageddon (as mentioned before) and the movie Death Race 2000 (a sorta funny version of this one featuring Sly)

Carmageddon is SO much like this (and deathrace 2000) that im more than confident that they have used that as inspiration for the script.

Deathrace the game also yes. I used to love that game.
Carmageddon as i said. Oh man im such a fan. just too bad they totally messed it up with TDK2000. They need to get back to the first game. Just get new graphics and cars and ill buy it today!

What else..
Destruction derby perhaps ?

Cant relly remember anything else except those already mentioned in the thread here.

vigilante 8 for ps2 come to mine not a racer but is a car shooter

"Carmageddon II: Carpocalypse Now" is your best bet. It did everything just right. The controls were great, the graphics were sweet (for its time). The gameplay was really fun.

"Carmageddon 3: TDR 2000", was a complete mess. It was a mistake from the get-go.

Unfortunately, because of that... they never made any further sequals, nor any remakes.

There was one called 'Crashday' featuring a Skyline, Countach, Murcielago, CRX, Golf, Atenza, Hummer, Corvette, Camaro, Astra and (Like Death Race) Dodge Ram and Ford Mustang.

You get machine guns and defensive mods and even a track editor.

Only problem is that it's damned hard to get hold of.

Well, besides the good old classic "Death Race" and it's remakes, "Quarantine" and "Twisted Metal" there's also some nifty little games named "Have a N.I.C.E. Day" and it's successor "N.I.C.E. 2" which both come pretty close to the original "Death Race 2000" movie.

The Carmageddon series, although being good games on their own, don't come close to the movie due the lack of hood mounted machine guns.

Interstate 76, and 82, which came out in the late '90s from the same guys behind Vigilante 8.

Well hell then, I guess I need my pants.

There's "Full Auto" for the Xbox360. This is what the movie reminded me of.

Twisted Metal, it even contains some cars that resemble some of the cars in Death Race ! :D

roadkill on ps2 was similar too.

Deathtrack, a very cool old DOS game (works fine with DosBox) came instantly to mind when I watched this film, and it actually reminded me more of that game with all its weaponry than the more well-known Carmageddon which was based on the original Deathrace 2000. Deathtrack was a geat game for its time, with cool music (again, for its time!), fun drivers, and a wide variety of neat weapons, from machineguns to exploding skateboard launchers! It's first person (in-car) with early 3D style car graphics, but is still fun to play and can be found online as abandonware (wish GOG would get it to sell!)

I believe there was a fairly recent "sequel" to Deathtrack that prett much went unnoticed and it appears to be 3rd person and more "arcade" in style. Haven't played it, but the oroginal wih updated graphics would be fantastic, especially with today's online multiplayer boom.
