Striking similarity to Star Trek:TNG final episode - contains spoiler

Towards the end, they discover tht the Bermuda Triangle was created in the present and is going backwards. This is the same thing that happens in "All Good Things," the final episode of Star Trek: TNG. There, they find that an anti-time rip created in the future is spreading backward in time and will destroy humanity.

It's funny how the same concept and twist can be so different in execution. In All Good Things, the reveal was handled with cleverness and elegance. In The Triangle, it just felt like such a flimsy mess of a way to end things.
