Colon was centroamerican?

In the first chapter of this miniseries, in the introduction when Colon is shown, the spanish that he uses is completely NON-IBERIC, is more like a central american Spanish, panama, nicaragua?

It may be a small detail, but I hate that kind of things maybe for americans it sounds the same, but no way!!!

Small things make big differences.

Didn't you know that, according to most Hollywood productions, Spain is a tiny republic in Central America?

Which leads to imagine that, according to tis idea, one day of 1492 Mr. Columbus opened a window in his home and said: "Wait a moment... What's the continent we are in?"

reply

Who in the hell is Colon?

You mean Christophorus Columbus? How do you know the real accent of 1492's Spain castilian language? How do you know he didn't have an Italian accent instead?

reply

"Colon" means Cristobal Colon (the name that hispanic countries gave to Christopher Columbus).

reply

Should probably tell the OP to only use the name among other Hispanics then because in the English speaking world a colon is a place inside your butt. It's the holding area for chocolate prisoners who are awaiting their release papers.

I lived in the Canal Zone for 3 years and there is a Colon in Panama.

reply

Well an Italian speaking Spanish may not sound like a Spaniard...
