The 'Nova II Has Landed!

Oh yes!

Series 2 made a welcome return to our screens last night, and I am pleased to say, it was just as great as the first series. Never have the words "bugger off" been used to such great comic effect. And, in the great tradition of sitcoms, anything you say can be used against you - as in when Paul gets his god complex at the end . . .

Oh, it was if it had never been away!

Also, I stayed tuned in for Armando Iannucci's "Time Trumpet" straight after. Now, having seen one or two episodes and clips of his other successes, I kind of knew what to expect. And while some of it was good, I don't think I'll be sticking with it. I've come to the conclusion that he's got his loaf stuck so far up his Khyber - "look at me, I'm poking fun at society" - yeah, we know. Satire *has* been done before, Armando - and to much better effect. A friend of mine once said that good satire exaggerates things only to the point where they are funny, not to the point where they are ridiculous. And I think he's right.

Sorry, I just had to get that off my chest!

I thought Supernova was really good. I enjoyed the first series, and the second series has started out quite nicely. I actually think its quite a rare kind of comedy available now. It's a very harmless show, where the family can watch without fear of anything too racey or offensive.

If your sitting there expecting to laugh constantly from start to finish, then you'll be dissapointed. But if you sit there expecting great characters, good storys, plenty of jokes, and good easy viewing, then I think you will find it more enjoyable.

But yes, good first episode, lets hope it stays consistantly good for the remaining episodes.

Was it me, or had Kat Stewart lost a lot of weight since Series 1 and if so WHY? She looked fine as she was. Now she looks starved. Or is this like the infamous Star Trek Shatner expansion during and contraction between seasons?
