Virgil Williams, the real "Victim" here

Its very upsetting to see all the hate against Virgil Williams. Remember Virgil is the victim here. He wears bow ties to work and he is just a little guy.

That time he threatened a female staffer that he would ruin her career and/kill her, because she took his place on a softball team - a lot of fuss over nothing.
Those statments joking about rape - not a big deal. Dissing whites - well it is the season of BLM. Telling fans who point out errors in his writing, based on actual continuity and/or canon, that they are stupid, that they could not do what he does - well he is a writer after all.....then we come to the last few days. I'm skipping lots, because lets face it, we know what happened according to Virgil.

Anyway this nice guy, so victimised by nasty, extreme TG supporters, who have got him all wrong. He proves what a nice guy he is by LIKING posts from twitter poster who among the lighter elements of their comments, suggested TG committ suicide - liked by Williams. Tweeter also hoped that TG's son James, would die soon - yep, you guessed it, liked by Williams.
He also was keen to acknowledge the poster who thanked him for "getting that prick Gibson sacked"...

Yes, I'm a TG supporter, not just a fan, a supporter, so theres the disclaimer. As for the claims made in post, none made up, all availble to view on public forums.

For the life of me, I don't understand how absolutely NOTHING has been said by TPTB about what a prick this man is and continues to be. NOT ONE WORD. That alone will keep me from watching the show again while TG/Hotch is no longer a character on it. And, I wouldn't want him to come back on it anyway, he is too good for that nest of vipers.

reply

Agreed, Virgil Williams is a massive ass hole and it gets ignored by everyone. He was the one who provoked the fight, and he is clearly a horrible human being based on his past actions. And yet TG is the one who gets punished by CBS. I think it is clear this was a set up and Messer and TPTB just wanted Gibson fired and they got what they wanted. I hope it comes back to bite them in the ass and the show gets canceled after this season because no one wants to watch it.

reply

I, too, think it was a setup, and I have a sense of desperation coming from TPTB. As I said on another thread, I think they thought they would quietly fire TG, get all their other players set up, and in a couple of weeks everything would die down, and guess what!! They miscalculated, and they have a disaster on their hands that they're praying they can fix. My thought is that we "rabid" fans would do our "one week of yelling", then forget all about Hotch/Thomas and continue to watch anyway because we still had Super Ninja Barbie, Genius Reid, Cutesy Garcia, and Grandfather Joe and his new family, plus they hired another "Morgan" for Garcia to pine over and banter with and another man to "help" Prentiss to run the BAU because even though she'd been running the London Gateway office of Interpol, she couldn't possibly run the BAU without a man to help her. Oh, I almost forgot Julie Chen's friend, they had to give her a job, too. At least, they gave her a better wig!

I guess I'd better say...don't get me started. I am so over Erica Messmaker and her minions and Criminal Minds.

reply

Exactly, they thought they could just fire TG and then the show would just go on and everyone would come to love the Girl Power Hour with New Morgan, while Reid and Rossi, the fans other 2 favorites, get shoved to the background with Reid spouting pointless facts and dealing with his mother and Rossi dealing with his ex wife. It is clear who Erica Messer's favorites are and what she wants to make the show, and the fans are not happy. How could CBS be so stupid as to think no one would care about Hotch, he was arguably the most popular character.

reply

I have wondered that myself over and over. Someone must have enough clout to put forth an idea that "we need to change with the times and be more diverse with more action, maybe a gay agent, or even a transexual agent. Diversity...and Thomas Gibson was the one standing in their way...

reply

Check out the shenanigans at the BBC in the last few days.....

But back to our man. I said this on another forum. This whole debacle was a classic example of dirty politcs, particularly the events immediately after TG's dismissal. We know he was suspended, over the top in itself, but the 'leaking' of the story to the media, immediately followed by a barage of mostly incorrect allegations, claims, e.g. TG was directing, but specifiacally the pushing of the idea that TG "has a history", and that stupid term "3 strikes", over and over. Oh and then we have the "sources...", yeah, those are totally unbiased.

The idea was to make this as quick but painful for TG as possible. Get it out there was he was a problem and that the networks were so protective of their staff, that no one was above termination. We, as in the networks done the right thing by our staff. The hope was I believe that people would say, yes indeed, we cant have this violent person on set, good riddance, and great, they are bringing Prentiss back and some new faces yadda yadda, it will be great. Oh can't believe I was such a fan of this horrible person.......

Unforunately, one of the many things they totally underestimated, was that alot of long term viewers in particular, just could not equate the person they were trying to peddle and the person the viewers had gotten to know - not the character but the person. Those of us who can smell a rat at 1000 paces. So much of what they are trying to peddle as negatives against TG, are so easily dismissed by their own actions, and words over the years.
The behaviour of some of the crew over the last few weeks, and the barage of pubicity for newbies, we are moving on, everyone loves everyone, rubbish, just smells of desparation, and the smell is becoming more and more putrid.

Hotch, Rossi and Reid have been getting dumber and dumber every season to make Garcia and especially JJ look smart. Lately, they haven't been focusing on JJ as much but when they do, she's still the best. First 2 seasons, it was Gideon and the sidekicks, now whenever JJ is front and center, it's her and the sidekicks. Hopefully Prentiss coming back may change that. The male who got the most time last few seasons was Morgan, as I guarantee EM has a big crush on him so that was the only reason.

reply

Wait. You TG crazy don't really think Reid and Rossi are Messer's favs, right?
MGG wasn't even included of "CM family pics" recently. Even JM seems to be fonded more by EM.
Seriously, don't speak like these two are supporting EM or her slaves. It's not the fact and rude to them.

reply

I dnon't give a *beep* about , "No Watch No Hotch" delusion,
But VW is an *beep* a racist and a rapist, that's for sure.
Are you writing this in a CBS writing room or what?

reply

For a brief horrifying moment I thought you were defending the little worm! Glad to see you aren't. I've lost interest in CM not because of the character loss (big though that is it's surmountable) but the appalling way in which TG has been treated. Totally unforgivable.

reply

Ha, reeled you in. lol

I disliked the little turd long before this latest mess. Seen his behaviour towards viewers online for last few years. yuk.
When word came out about TG being suspended, I and alot of other long term viewers, knew immediately the most likely candidate. What does that tell you?

Look, if I ever make a mistake and actually defend the virus, I will happily send you my name, address, mugshot, hell, I'll even pay for the hitman and sign a disclaimer, absolving you from any blame...

reply

Don't forget that VW bash the fans on twitter because they didn't like his writing when he asked them if they like his writing. He don't know how to take criticizes.

Mark Antony:
Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears;
I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him, for a moment I thought you were serious but I realized you borrowed a bit from the Mark Antony speech, well done.

I assume gerf007 was burrowing from William Shakespeare
Julius Caesar
Act 3, Scene 2,

If anyone is not familiar with Shakespeare I posted the scene below it is probably my favorite Shakespeare scenes

Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears;
I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him;
The evil that men do lives after them,
The good is oft interred with their bones,
So let it be with Caesar … The noble Brutus
Hath told you Caesar was ambitious:
If it were so, it was a grievous fault,
And grievously hath Caesar answered it …
Here, under leave of Brutus and the rest,
(For Brutus is an honourable man;
So are they all; all honourable men)
Come I to speak in Caesar’s funeral …
He was my friend, faithful and just to me:
But Brutus says he was ambitious;
And Brutus is an honourable man….
He hath brought many captives home to Rome,
Whose ransoms did the general coffers fill:
Did this in Caesar seem ambitious?
When that the poor have cried, Caesar hath wept:
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff:
Yet Brutus says he was ambitious;
And Brutus is an honourable man.
You all did see that on the Lupercal
I thrice presented him a kingly crown,
Which he did thrice refuse: was this ambition?
Yet Brutus says he was ambitious;
And, sure, he is an honourable man.
I speak not to disprove what Brutus spoke,
But here I am to speak what I do know.
You all did love him once, not without cause:
What cause withholds you then to mourn for him?
O judgement! thou art fled to brutish beasts,
And men have lost their reason…. Bear with me;
My heart is in the coffin there with Caesar,
And I must pause till it come back to me.

Thomas Gibson has been fired from Criminal minds now I won't watch CM, No Hotch no watch
