100

OMG I'm watching the series from the beginning and 100 blew my mind. The emotion from Hotch and resignation from Haley plus the bonus of 'working the case' was too much. Crazy good but aweful episode.

I've never understood why that episode and Thomas Gibson weren't submitted for an Emmy. Especially when some of the other winners were selected. I guess the old saying goes...there is a clique...

That was indeed one of the best eps of the series, and worthy of Emmy consideration. what was great was that Hotch didn't back off and not kill the Reaper. That was what I loved about the Red John denouement in The Mentalist: Patrick said from episode 1 that he was going to kill RJ, and five years later he did exactly that.

It has always been my favorite episode, and at the time, I wasn't so obsessed with Hotch/TG; it was such an emotional chapter and TG played it for all it was worth. I think that's when I really began to notice that he could put so much emotion into a role and it hit me that the stoic, unemotional way he lead the team was the perfect way to play the role. When I finally watched him on Dharma and Greg (I taped the D&G episodes on DTV) I could hardly believe it was the same actor. His timing in comedy is uncanny.

He was great in D&G - that was a hilarious show. Mitchell Ryan, who played his father, was also a comic gem in that show (and light years away from the crazy cop he played in Magnum Force).
