The song played when people died

What was the name of the song? I couldn't tell if it was a real song from the late 60's, or one they made, to sound like it...

It's pretty much a rip-off of "You don't have to say you love me" by Dusty Springfield, but the name of the song in the movie, presumably made for it, is "I will always be there" by Niki Haris.

That's exactly what I was thinking -- they probably couldn't afford the rights to use "You Don't Have to Say You Love Me" so they had to make a "soundalike" song to suggest the same 1960s era.

I didn't know that prelude. I knew it was from the era. But I couldn't place it. It made the film and added to the creepiness of Mary.

I think the song they had in the film was styled after that era, and made to sound like that old song, but is a modern creation for the film. It certainly added to the creepiness, except personally I kind of wish they had used the old song it sounds like.

I remember that song well as I'm also a Dusty Springfield fan, and the "soundalike" song actually really distracted me! :)

I found the movie for like a buck and bought it strictly for the song, I love the song. It's available on YouTube.
