At the end it's revealed that Fujio(?) has cancer of the stomach, he's given only a few years to live. However once he's "bitten" and fights Fumiyo in the ring, 5 years have past. Problem is he's not a zombie and appears fine.
Oh well...enjoyed it. A fun movie.

Yes but just like he made himself believe he was a zombie because he figured he was bit he also made himself believe he had cancer due to his "symptoms"... I am trying to remember and not distort this but I believe he was initially falsely diagnosed
Haha, yet another lost reference. Just like nobull failed to recognize that Mitsuo was a hypochondriac, you failed to see junkstory's reference. The girl's (Fumiyo) first words were "Are you f---ing retarded?" I'm unclear on the original language, but that's what my subtitles said. Junkstory actually toned it down.
The film is subtler than you'd first imagine. ;)
He never had cancer...that was explained in the movie.
