noooo...it is NOT a flop..just cause it didnt perform as well as other srk blockbusters like veerzaara doesnt mean it is a flop!

Whether it's a flop in India or not hardly determines whether a film is believable or realistic - and certainly doesn't determine if its good.

This is the country which has made blockbusters out of Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, Ishq, Raja, Raja Babu, a whole spate of 'something No.1' films. Looking at the other big industry in India, Chennai - they have Rajnikanth (I vote that he is the epitome of embarrassment for India), Jeans, Indian and other horrible stuff I've seen on TV purported to be blockbuster material.

India makes many good films - and many are from Bollywood. It's the audience that often doesn't let good films survive.

The premise of Paheli (I haven't seen it) transcends any of the above-mentioned films.

no one cares if u want to watch the movie or not...man dunt flipen talk if u dunt noe nuttin....der are many srk fans here and i am one of them and i aint even from watever religion it is i am lankan buh still i watch his movies and i dunt want to here no *beep* bout him! SRK IS HOT AND SEXCI and dunt forget this is for ppl who have watched it...and neways u said u didn't watch it so why are u replyin to it!.....neways im out

the Indian crowd sucks they, dont want to make a general statement but compare Kya Kool hain Hum and Parineeta, Parineeta shoud have been the superhit instead its Kya Kool Hain Hum which is an utterly stupid movie for a stupid audience

actually this movie did very well. Its considered above average to a hit depending on where u are.

Also the movie is in the top 10 in the UK and Australia, so......

Me- I consider it a hit.

A good distribution by monopolous Chopra's and heavy marketing resulted in above average show in overseas. But the fact is that SRK sucks and his movie does well in India only if it has Chopra, Johars etc associated with it. The way he speaks rajesthani is a comedy. He should simply run around girls in college wearing stylish clothes designed by manish malhotra. Even after that if the movie is not produced/directed by chopra or johar then god save it.
Thats what is real srk all about.

i think people need to grow up its a novel its not based on a true story. its a literal book turned into a movie. firstly if people are complaining that paheli is too unrealistic and they go and watch harry potter and lord of the rings and find that really good they are hypocrites. those hollywood films i just mention are not true so get yur eyes open and enjoy paheli and realise the magic of novels and films

Amitabh had a guest appearance. It was a significant guest appearance but he didn't say much. He was good though.

16 years on the street & you see a lot. But all the wrong sights, not the sights you want to see.

I would Amitabh Bachchan as a real role and NOT a guest appearance. A guest appearance was that of Mr. A.K Hangal (the choodiyaan-wala).

staranjali, I kind of agree with what you say, but cool it with the CapsLock! It's annoying to read and we can hear you just fine, hon.

Paheli is not the best movie, but I liked it for what it was. The scenery was quite nice.

THe scary thing was, Rani's character looked like my mom, but acted stupider than she would and SRK with a moustache looked so much like my dad that it's not funny (the non-ghost SRK even reminded me of my dad - the way he acted sometimes - and it was pretty freaky).

I liked this movie, but felt so sorry for the real husband that the ending was bittersweet for me.

yes it flopped well not really flopped it did average
which wasnt really good
but it was a hit over seas
i personally wasnt that big of a fan of the movie but the mnusic was awesome

It was a pretty amazing film IMO. The story was an Indian original fairy tale that was altered a bit by the author Vidya Detha (spelling?) who claimed to have wanted to alter it thus since childhood! It was a period piece with exquisite attention to detail and had a fairy tale like aura running all through it. Rani was transcendant as the naive young bride, SRK was very good as the ghost, even better as Kisen. The ghost takes on a fully corporeal form and you sense his joy in it as he meets the mom, walks through the house, looking in wonder all around him!

Music was awesome - the movie a great original effort, sadly unappreciated.

The movie did well in overseas and did good in India, it was not flop at all. I personally love this movie , I thought it was different and the story line was great!

On top of that just look at the rating on IMDB!!! That alone should tell you that it's not a flop!

Vetch ji - you have to watch Paheli. It is a very sweet film and the lead pair does an awesome job. Songs are mazing but my absolute favorite is Dheere Jalna.

Rani was awesome indeed but I think Juhi more than owned all her scenes! Too bad she had a cameo.
