1s + 10s voters - KMA!

Does anyone else find the reverse bell curve of the votes on this disgusting? I find it hard to believe even that many people really believe this is a Rate 10 movie (and I was surprisingly moved by it, and will watch it again), while the Rate 1 people have managed to round up even more votes for an even more dubious evaluation - you could not have seen this and thought it was worse than a 3, for any reason (of course there are always the random teenage clowns out there, ranking Citizen Kane and Seven Samurai as ones, but they politely offer us revies to confirm their identities.)

Can people at least refrain from political voting and nationalistic *beep* when they could not have possibly seen the movie? I know many of you cannot, so be ready for me to ridicule you into tears should you speak up at a party, or during a coffee break. You need the humilation.

i dont doubt there are alternative motives behind these votes, but really, the film is pretty crap.

obvious historical omissions aside, as i've posted in another thread, ths special effects are B grade at best, while themes and drama portrayed are cliched and pretentious. not very inspiring stuff

disagree - I have seen many , many war films -

this is as good as ' Letters from Iwo Jima '

I think it makes a change from seeing Americans shoot down Germans, Japanese, Italians, British, Iraqis, Afghans, more Germans, Native Americans (MANY), Other Americans, Cubans, Mexicans, Koreans, Vietnamese, Fijians, Samoans, Spaniards, Philippinos, etc. (is there anyone they haven't killed?).

I'd rather see a sub-par (by Western standards) Japanese film about WW2 than YET ANOTHER American made film about how they single-handedly kicked everyone in the world's arse to the sound of 'Battle Hymn of the Republic', or how John Wayne single-handedly won WW2 while beating himself off. YES, WE GET IT, YOU'RE GOOD AT BASHING WEAKER/CRIPPLED NATIONS. Get over it already.
