Cast List

Looks like the current cast list is up. Figures they would give Rhyno top billing since he's world champ. I still can't figure out who's going to fight him though. I don't think RVD will be healed by then. Mick Foley? Tazz? A non-WWE wrestler like Shane Douglas or Sandman?

reply

Won't be Tazz or RVD. RVD is still injured and Tazz won't wrestle he will call the action though. Mick Foley is out of the question. So I would think someone like Tommy Dreamer someone who is in WWE. Dudleys could make their return there too. And will we see the Impact Players re-unite. I'd also like to see the team Pitbulls and Eliminaters there along with the Gangstas. Team division was great in ECW. Some of the teams I'd rate along with teams like the rockers, new age outlaws, outsiders, demolition, road warriors/LOD,& the steiners.

I think he had neck surgury back in early 2002 which ended his wrestling career once and for all. Yeah, I'd love to see him wrestle but I'm looking forward to him and Joey exchange banter as I think they would be good together. Who knows, if it's as good as it could be Joey may get a job after this.

reply

Joey Styles is NOT going to be at the One Night Stand pay-per-view. He has issued statemnets on 1wrestling.com that he dislikes the WWE and is never going to work for them. Styles, however will do commentary for the Shane Douglas Hardcore Homecoming show at around the same time.

None of the TNA talent will appear at the pay-per-view either. Kid Kash wants to, but TNA won't let him despite the fact that Kash has put in his resignation with the company. Bummer.

But the show is heading in the right direction since Tommy Dreamer is contacting all these outside stars. The show looks promising.

reply

How can they not let him compete at the show if he's not working for them anymore? Is it some contract dispute?

reply

Kid Kash had an interview a few days ago on audiowrestling.com where he told the hosts that he put in his resignation, but TNA officials aren't granting it. It's not a contract dispute, but the same problems occurred with Johnny Swinger, Simon Diamond, and Frankie Kazarian. The three of them all put in resignations, but were not granted them for quite a while. Kash said in the interview that he signed some bulls**t contract for which he is actually losing money trying to work for the company. He wants out now and he wants to work the One Night Stand show. Listen to the interview. It is very good, and he rips TNA a new a**hole during it.

reply

This is howa0016 again. I just checked a few wrestling sites and it looks like Kid Kash got his wish. He was just released today. TNA said his release was "effective immediately". If that is true, I guess he will now work One Night Stand like he wanted too. This is very cool. Kash is very talented and he just needs to work the indy scene again. I think he would be great in Ring of Honor or JAPW. Anyways, breaking news that is music to my ears personally.

reply

Now I can't wait to see ONS if Kash is going to be on it. I personally want him to fight CW Anderson as they had a great PPV match 5 years ago. And good luck to him wherever he goes after the show. BTW, could you tell me where I can get a transcript of the Kid Kash interview? Thanks.

reply

I don't know if there is a transcript of it available, but as stated above, go to audiowrestling.com if you want to hear the entire interview. By the way, just checking some sites awhile ago and Kash is confirmed for the Shane Douglas hardcore homecoming to face C.W. Anderson, but not yet confirmed for the One Night Stand show. But, like I said, he wants to work that show. Sorry about not knowing where to get a transcript, but you should really listen to the interview. You won't regret it!

reply

I figured Kash and C.W. would fight on one of the shows. I know C.W. is working ONS but like you said we don't know if Kash is yet. If Kash does show up I think he could team with Super Crazy again if he doesn't fight C.W.

reply

I don't really care who he fights, as long as he makes it to the One Night Stand show. One Night Stand should be great with all this outside talent.

By the way toxie2000, I has been a pleasure chatting with you about wrestling. I hope we can keep it up. I found your post on MNM and replied to it if you want to check that out. Very cool. Keep the posts coming. By the way, Paul London is the future. His work in Ring of Honor is off the hook and I'm glad he finally won the cruiserweight title.

Dude, what are you like 5 years old? You can't get these guys' names right despite the fact that they are listed on the previous page. By the way, you forgot: Sandman, Axl Rotton, Little Guido, Tony Mamaluke, Jason, Justin Credible, Chris Benoit, Nova, JT Smith, Stevie Richards, Al Snow, Lance Storm, Dawn Marie, Lita(Miss Congeniality), Johnny Swinger, Bill Alfonso, Sabu, Tracy Smothers, Ref. John Finnegan, Ref. Mike Kehner, Ref. Jim Molineaux, and possibly Kid Kash. Dude, get your facts strait before you post something and for God's sake, learn how to spell.

First of the information on this page is flase. A lot of these guys are doing shand douglas' show. Not one night stand. Sandman was offered a 5 figure deal from wwe to do theirs and turned it down. Justin Credible is to shane's as well as Tracy smothers and bill alfonso. I think axl Rotten is doing his too. And I do know how to spell, just no japanese ans mexican names. And I am not 5 yrs old. I am 15. My information is correct I ahve been checking www.wrestlingdotcom.com regularly. About a month ago they posted who was going where.

Also how long have yall been ecw fans? I had been watching with my brother since I was 6-7. We would have to stay up till 1 am to watch it. After they got ppv we ordered every ecw show. The first one we got was al snow vs shane douglas for the ecw title in may of 97 or 98 I think. The thing that kept me a fan was the dudles, rvd and sabu, taz, new jack, sandman, and justin credible.

Dude, Sandman, Alfonso, Credible, and Smothers ARE CONFIRMED to appear at the One Night Stand show. According to an updated list by wrestleview.com, 1wrestling.com(Bill Apter and Joey Styles' website), pwinsider.com, and liveaudiowrestling.com those guys will all be there in attendance. Get your stuff strait. Yes, Sandman did turn his original offer down, but then accepted a few days later because he realized that he needed the money. By the way, I am 24 years old and have been an ECW fan since its beginning in 1993. I have attended several live shows and ordered every pay-per-view. I also have tapes of all the TNN shows.

I have also been a fan of E C F'n W Since it began. So for a snot nose 15 year to think every thing he says is right well thats just him being a child, thinking he knows all. And who the hell is dudles, you mean the Dudleys i hope. I myself will watch both shows because of the Fact Shane Douglas has got The Eliminators and the ecw one night stand does not. If they would of signed with WCW, when Perry Saturn went, there would of been no team to stop them. There were 2 teams in my book that are, in my opinion the 2 greatest tag teams, from ECW, that represented it and that is Eliminators and Dudleys. no offense to teams like Gangstas, Sabu and RVD, or the Pitbulls but those 2 teams were great. Sabu and Rvd performed better as singles. New Jack was the only good Gansta.

reply

Hell yes. It's good to hear from a real ECW fan like myself and not this 15 year old up here. I agree that the Dudleys and the Eliminators were the best. The Dudleys were great because they were hardcore to the bone and stirred crowds up like no one else could. The Eliminators just left it in the ring and were great at that. Plus, total elimination is one of my favorite finishers of all time. Man was it devastating and great to watch.

Just thought yall should know Ecw has lost another great superstar. Chris Candido has passed away at the age of 33. As of now the cause of death is uncomfirmed.

"We sort of like the seven eleven. We are not always doing business but we are always open."

reply

Candido died of a blood clot in his leg after his recent surgery. May he rest in peace. Candido was one of the greats.

reply

Yeah I just found out about the blood clot this morning. Candido was awesome in the tripple threat. I thought he had a good match at lockdown and was looking foreward to his work in tna. Rip candido.

Sounds like a promising Show.
A few of the ECW talent that have passed away - the likes of Christ Candido [RIP April 2005], Anthony Durante - Pitbull#2 [Sept 2003], Rick Rude who was with the group in 1997 [RIP April 1999], Brian Pillman [RIP Oct 1997]. So these guys will be missed.

As for the ECW guys at TNA, yes a agree with some of what has been said, I can't see any of the former ECW talent who are with them being released for this ECW show, because it is a WWE event.

I think Scott Levy (Raven) & Shane Douglas will be missed as these 2 were one of the few top guns in ECW!!! It won't be the same without the "Oh! My God" voice of Joey Styles!!! I guess Taz will have to fill his shoes as he is a commentator now.

I see the show takes place on 12 June 2005 at Hammerstein Ballroom, Manhattan Center - 311 West 34th St., Manhattan, New York City, USA.

I wonder if this show will be broadcast live on Sky Sports/Sky Box Office for UK viewers???

reply

i just want to say that i am a fan of all wrestling and although i do not know alot about ECW (i know enough but not alot) i ma looking forward to this event. it should be good. i am just asking, Is this going to be a one night only special event or is this going to be the start of something bigger than that? if anyone can clear this up that would be great. thanks.

reply

personally, i think this will be planned out to be a single ppv.

however, if the buyrates/dvd sales do phenomenally (which i believe they will) they may do something more for it. but, most likely it will be a 1 time thing. (note the name "one night stand" and not something that could hint at a return.)

apparently with paul heyman being involved a lot, theres speculation that he may be able to convince joey styles to commentate. we'll see.

reply

The dvd did sell very well. I think it is the #2 best wrestling dvd next to Rick Flair's. When it sold that well it triggered the ppv. Maybe the ppv could trigger more ppvs or a tribute tour. Maybe if were are real lucky we could probably see ecw back in action. If not we can wish can't we?

"We sort of like the seven eleven. We are not always doing business but we are always open."

reply

The Rise and Fall of ECW dvd is number 2 in the list of all time best selling WWE dvds. Number 1 is Wrestlemania 20. But, the ECW dvd is only about 2,000 units away from beating it. Sales are still very strong, and ECW will prevail.

In Addition to the names posted by people on the boards and the cast list for imdb, there were still a few wrestlers that I came up with and was curious as to if they've been contacted also. Guys like 2 Cold Scorpio, Brian Lee, 911, Tommy Rich (Tracey Smothers and Little Guido are both doing the show, however, I think this his presence would complement the whole unit of the FBI)and Chris Jericho, which is somewhat of a wild card. Jericho's contract is said to be up in a few months and rumors are indicating that there is a possibility that he won't be back, coupled with his recent candid remarks about the company, most notably the Matt Hardy incident. We'll have to wait and see. Either way, even though some of these guys won't be able to perform like they did years ago, it'll still make for a great show.
