Why so many Hispanics on the show?

Now, I'm sorry if it makes me sound like I'm being racist, because that is not my intention here, but why does it seem like half the characters are either Hispanic and/or at least have a Spanish accent on the show?

I would suspect that the number of hispanic characters is directly correlated with the fact that it is a show to help children learn spanish and it would seem weird for a whole bunch of white people to walk around speaking spanish.

Don't you know? All us Hispanics are handy men and maids.... This show IS racist.

That doesn't stop the makers of Go, Diego, Go. I swear they found the whitest kid on earth to do his voice. And the most shrill.

And it's probably just supposed to be a hispanic community. Remember how many of these things are made in Southern California (where I am now). Making him a hispanic handyman, though, yeah. I couldn't help shaking my head at that. I think they tried to treat the job as worthy of respect, but there are so many social connotations around here, that I could see it coming off badly. I don't think they gave this enough thought. OR maybe they just hoped we'd all grow up and kids wouldn't care either way. Kids dig tools.

Actually, they had Jake T. Austin voice Diego. He was actually partially Hispanic himself. And also Polish, too.

But if it's a Hispanic community, then why is not everyone Hispanic? Like Kelly or Mr. Lopart.

I live in a suburb of Austin TX so this just looks like my neighborhood. A large Hispanic community with some white people.

Well, if the kid is part Hispanic, you'd never know it.

And why isn't it all Hispanic? Welcome to the USA. In fact, I like very much seeing a variety of people mixing freely. It's unrealistic, but it's nice.

this show can sum up why America is now a broke cesspool....

I thought they were trying to capitalize on the success of other shows. Kids love Bob the Builder because of the tools, equipment, and building/fixing aspect. Kids also like Dora & Deigo because they learn Spanish words. Handy Manny combines those into 1 show. Personally, I hate Dora & Deigo. They are not good Spanish teachers and their shows are boring to a lot of kids I know. Manny makes Spanish fun and teaches it in a better way. Manny also did some sign language on an episode.
