Charlize Theron as Cheetah in Wonder Woman 2?

To me this is too good an idea to pass up. Charlize was the star of Jenkins' first movie, Monster, which earned her an Oscar. Now she is a bigger action star than ever. She can play the rich, high-class, aristocrat side of the Cheetah who can charm Diana as well as the feral, violent, cursed side who can physically threaten Wonder Woman. And her body is in tip-top shape to wear the form-fitting Cheetah skin. We know that superhero movies should have a villain that looks eye-catching and original. We haven't seen anything that looks quite like Cheetah in superhero films to date.

We see Diana's modern headquarters is filled with artifacts in Wonder Woman. The Cheetah is a hunter of rare artifacts. She could be searching for the legend of Themyscira and trying to use Diana to get to it. Then Diana finds out how many people Cheetah is killing along the way to get what she wants as well as to satisfy the bloodlust of her curse. Here's some concept art:

She would be a perfect Cheetah or Artemis!

As long as they don't make her like she was in The Island of Dr. Moreau where "Ares" was!

reply

Artemis was already in the first movie, played by a black woman.

reply

No For fuck sake...Theron should be an older Cat Woman instead...much better casting choice there cause we have an older Batman in DCU, dont waste her on one movie villian....

reply

She doesn't look like Catwoman at all. Catwoman should not have a baby face, should not be taller than average and should be a hardcore brunette, not a natural blonde. This is all keeping in mind that Michelle Pfeiffer was a HORRIBLE choice for Catwoman. Sean Young certainly had the look of Catwoman captured much better at that time.

reply

Yeah, but Pfeiffer was hot in that catwoman suit... MEOW!!

Theron did a great job as a female villian in both the huntsman movies and in the latest fast and the furios....and she really rocks in atomic blonde, she would kill it as an older cat woman...and sure, I agree that cat woman shouldnt be a blonde, but have you ever heard about something called dye? something that women do all the time you computer geek....

And Theron was terrific as the antiheroine in "Mad Max: Fury Road", she may be an excellent actress but she can also kick ass in an action film with the best of them.

Personally, I think having her as an antagonist to Wonder Woman is a great idea, for all of the reasons listed above and more. In terms of personality she can come across as intelligent, knowing, and quite chilly, which would make her quite a perfect foil for Gadot's warm, innocent WW.

I'm honestly sick of Charlize Theron doing the same kind of thing where she's this larger than life character who can do no wrong. I used to like her because she made interesting choices and she is good at acting, but I hate how everything she does now feels same-same-ish. I'd rather see her play something totally unexpected and unique.

As for who I think should play Cheetah...I think Olivia Wilde should do it.

reply

She played a flawed woman in Prometheus... Nailed it

reply

Don't know too much about Cheetah...but I hope they avoid her honestly. There's just something kind of cheesy about her...for lack of a better word.

reply

It's not easy...being cheesy.

Cheetah is in the top tier of Wonder Woman villains. Wonder Woman doesn't have the greatest rogues gallery, but Cheetah is going to rank in the top 3 in most lists you look at.

reply

Yes Yes and yes. she would make a perfect villain in the sequel.

reply

Yeah, she's perfect. If they wanted to be shocking, i'd go with Miley Cyrus as well.

reply

It would be predictable to see her get cast in something like this. That said, yes she would obviously fit the part.

reply

More predictable than "Birdman" Michael Keaton being cast as The Vulture?

reply

Heh, almost but MAYBE not necessarily. I'm liking this pattern we're seeing with Keaton, by the way.

reply

Which pattern? Male pattern baldness?

reply

Is Patty Jenkins' first movie worth watching again? I watched it after The Machinist because of the incredible physical transformations the lead actors make, but don't remember the story that much. I'd like to see it because of her Wonder Woman hit.
