The Villains Are... [possible spoilers]

According to https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uD1lRTDzyOg the two villains featured in the film are The Duke of Deception (Danny Huston) and Doctor Poison (Elena Anaya).

In the comics, Doctor Poison is the first costumed criminal Wonder Woman ever fights. She's a Japanese princess and a scientist who aided the Nazis during World War II with chemical weaponry. She's also prominent for being a member of Villainy Inc., which was a team-up of Wonder Woman's primary antagonists in the 40's. She's creepy, demented, and pretty awesome in my opinion.

The Duke of Deception was another early foe for Diana, and was one of Ares's (then called Mars) chief allies. He was a shriveled, little man who manipulated many countries into war in the 40's. He was also notable for being part of the origin of Doctor Psycho, one of Wonder Woman's most prominent enemies. Most recently, he was in the fantastic The Legend of Wonder Woman series in a new take on the character.

Sadly, it doesn't seem like any of the gods actually even appear in the story.

...WHAT ?!?

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

Then that means David Thewlis is discarded. Not a big surprise to me at all....

I hope this isn't the case.

That's way better than Danny being Ares. And much better than Elena Anaya being Circe.

Great call Geoff.

I'm not sure if I believe this. It's not a reputable source. But if true, yikes. They did not cast a Japanese actress for Doctor Poison.

That was my first instinct too. But the video clarified that there have been a number of iterations of the character and if Doctor Poison is in the film then she'll most likely be the Russian version.

It takes all the running you can do, to keep in the same place.

I wouldn't believe it if it's this early.

This actually makes me excited.., Dr Poison is a great choice as it grounds Diana in the 'World of Man', with only a hint of spiritual manipulation. Additionally, it suggests there will be ample ways to convey the full devastation of Dr Poison's abhorrent inventions. Separate to this The Duke Of Deception's power set are perfect for the type of mental stress I want Wonder Woman to be placed under.

Going this route allows the origin story to breathe with promise of further pay off later. It also allows Ares to come across as powerful, mysterious and more importantly.., patient.

Though it's way too early to tell, I think having "Dr Poison" would be a great choice.
