To those brave Nazi apologists trying to re-write history

Lets hope Wonder Woman doesn't hurt this poor innocent ordinary German soldier who woke up one day, tripped and accidentally invaded France...

or this one

He seems a nice chap who wouldn't hurt a fly..

And this guy was just a good pilot..

Don't worry, enough people know they're full of crap anyway. They typically begin their tirades calling Gal Gadot a Zionist or some such.

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

reply

Wow you are a really bad person and hateful racist. I hope for you someday you will become a better person.

Did you know the Nazi´s was in WW2 not WW1.

reply

Just when you think the internet can't get any stupider, someone accuses you of racism for pointing out that Adolf Hitler served in the Bavarian Army in World War One.

It's a shame stupid isn't an Olympic sport, you'd have won gold....

reply

OK
I am really trying to take stupid out of the equation.

Are you saying that a soldier may become a bad guy in twenty years so they should be killed off now?

Does that apply to everyone or do you just hate Germans?

I periodically misspell words just to annoy the word police.

reply

The "poor ordinary innocent" German soldiers I've mentioned, and I could list many many more, go on to found and lead a regime that murders millions of people.

I don't think they'll be missed.

And do some reading before spouting off.

Adolf Hitler led the Nazi Party from 1921, just three years after the end of the war not quite the 20 years you're imagining.

Next idiot please - I've finished with this one.

reply

Wow you aren´t just a bad person and a hateful racist you are a dumb too. ;)

So you basicly say the Germans are evil because the are all Nazi´s. That is retarded. :)

reply

So pointing out the crimes against humanity committed by a bunch of mass murderers makes ME a bad person?

Just imagine how bad I'd be if I tried to take over the world and left 50 million people dead.

Or maybe that's OK in your twisted version of reality.

reply

No pointing out crimes against humanty don´t make you a bad person, but criminalize a entire folk makes you a bad person and a evil racist.

You say the Germans are the bad guys in WW1 because they are Germans. You blames they WW1 German for crimes the Nazi´s will commit in WW2, because Hitler fought in WW1.
Well that is simply stupid.

Talking about re-writing history and twisted Versions of reality, I agree with you. You should really stop that, and try to accept that the reason for WW1 was really complex and every nation did their part to make the war happen.

So again I hope you´ll be someday succesful becoming a better person and be able to free yourself from intolerance and racism.

Have a nice day.

reply

I can't believe you guys are letting the OP troll you. Maybe we should call Hellfire down on all the British soldiers who had the chance to kill Hitler during WWI, but for some twisted, evil reason didn't. They must have ALL been Nazi sympathizers, right? If ONLY they'd read the future in tea leaves and known what Hitler was going to do someday, they could have stopped him. Idiot. And to read Neo-Nazism into the mix is even more stupid. Just stop feeding the troll, and eventually he'll go away.

Morguai-
I've seen this type before. They're going to fight WWII until they die.

All right listen. There were plenty of Germans who weren't evil in World War II. The German Whermacht was the ordinary infantry, and did not partake in war crimes. They were ordinary soldiers, and many of them didn't know about the crimes their country was committing, since these crimes were not announced to the public. The evil Germans were the Waffen SS, whose specific tasks were finding the so called "undesirables" and massacring them. THEY were the evil ones. The ordinary infantry invaded other countries because hitler had told them that they were a threat to national socialism. These soldiers weren't the ones committing genocide. In fact, many people in occupied territories said that the Germans were nicer and kinder than the Russians, who raped and pillaged everywhere they went.

"The German Whermacht was the ordinary infantry, and did not partake in war crimes. They were ordinary soldiers,
and many of them didn't know about the crimes their country was committing…."

Absolutely false. The Wehrmacht's atrocities have long been documented.

Wehrmacht officers like Wilhelm Keitel, Alfred Jodl Hermann Hoth, Georg von Küchler, Georg-Hans Reinhardt, Karl von Roques, Walter Warlimont and several others were convicted for war crimes carried out by the Wehrmacht under their command.

"….many of them didn't know about the crimes their country was committing…."

Seriously? They had no idea what the Einsatzgruppen were doing? Or the Wehrmacht itself?

reply

They were in the trenches, and for the record, there was no internet back then and no ipads. The average person was not well informed, let alone soldiers in the middle of fighting.

reply

There's just no talking sense to a neo-Nazi, I get that now.

I wonder how much of this Wonder Woman hate is being driven by the fact Gal Godot is an Israeli woman shown in the trailer to be crushing German soldiers.

Could there be a greater shame for the male pride of Germany?

If it all gets to much for you, you can always meet up with your mates at the Beer Hall and talk about lebensraum and shout Sieg Heil at each other.

reply

... eh, I think making it World War II would've provided a clearer opponent for Wonder Woman.

Maybe they wanted to sell tickets in Germany, but they ban the swastika.

reply

True but it looks like they want to do something really different from what's gone before. Gal Godot is nothing like Linda Carter so why not show her in another time period as well.

reply

The thing that makes no sense is they've redone Wonder Woman's Origin Story.

Her origin much like Captain America was created during WWII. (She debuted in All Star Comics #8, in December 1941).

So why would a movie like Captain America or a previous actress like Lynda Carter make them change the plot?

First of all WWII aircraft (Steve Trevor is a pilot) had a range of about 721 nautical miles, I'm using a Grumman F4F Wildcat as
an example.

WWI aircraft had a range of 300 miles. (Based on a Sopwith Camel)

So unless Steve Trevor is re-made into a Sailor, how does he fight an enemy pilot far enough offshore to land on Paradise Island? (Another thing many WWI pilots did not wear parachutes at the time). In addition where would Americans and Germans be fighting in 1917-18? Uh..Northern France? How does that work?

I understand they don't want to seem like re-hashing other stories. But the reality is they could have changed it to Cold War era and set it anywhere in the world. Just because Lynda Carter has done the WWII version of Wonder Woman, means Gal Gadot can't? That shows to me lack of faith in the writing and the character.

reply

Or maybe it's because WW1 was a very terrible war and it ties to the origin of this version of WW.

Also it's bad form to complain by mixing together multiple nerd disciplines and dialing the sperg up.

From the looks of it he doesn't land on paradise island, he washes up on the beach, suggesting he crashed somewhere in the Mediterranean.

If its set in the cold war, who exactly is he meant to be fighting in Europe?

Why would you think its got anything to do with Lynda Carter?

reply

From the trailers, it seems like Trevor is followed by German Soldiers to the Island.

So maybe they changed the location of Paradise Island for this film?

reply

Sounds plausible.

Its inconsistent, but in some comics it does move around at times, hence why the Amazons can normally keep its location secret, despite the number of people who have gone to and from it.

reply

You mean Paradise Island is relocated to the North Sea or the Baltic Sea? :)
Made my day.

reply

We are observing the Centennial of WWI. The release date will be within a couple of months of the 100th year since the USA entered the war. This may have played a role in choosing the era depicted.
