If WW flops, who will feminists blame?

Or to be specific, which "evil white men" will feminists blame?

reply

Remember when all the feminist blamed Catwoman and Elektra's failures on the white man instead of the movie themselves?

Yeah me neither

reply

Radical Feminism didn't really take off back then.

2004-2005 was before facebook and other social media.

reply

No feminists did that, anywhere. Please.

reply

It won't flop.
Kill your darlings

reply

How much do you think it will earn?

"Join The BDS Movement."

reply

You just can't handle the fact that in this movie, a man is the classic "damsel in distress." But go ahead and blame "feminists" for your shortcomings. lol

reply

I agree with your sentiment.

But I'm not sure if Steve Trevor is a classic "Damsel in Distress" I mean it depends on the writer, but normally he comes across a pretty great guy. He gets rescued by her, he knows he's not the hero, he knows she's stronger, tougher and better in a fight than her, and what's more he's perfectly okay with that.

At the same time he's not useless, he was a soldier after all. He's always the one whose happy to help when he can, and equally happy to stand on the side lines as she's the hero.

Really an all around great guy.

reply

"Really an all around great guy."

It's not cool that young men are being given male role models that in any other age would have been dismissed as a 'fag' or whatever. A situation where the female represents strength and the male represents weakness (even relatively so) cannot ordinarily create attraction between the sexes, however much it may massage feminist egos

reply

I think a lot of men have fantasies about strong, powerful women, just look at all the male fans these 'badass' female characters get.

If you fantasize about Black Widow but want to date weak and helpless women in real life, that kind of says something about your own insecurity issues.

reply

Because his only choice as you put it is Black Widow or weak and helpless women. Just because he prefers the man to be stronger doesn't mean the woman is helpless.

reply

My wife and I are equals. She was "badass" in her youth. She was an Air Force sergeant. There's no fantasy involved.

reply

You do know that when the creator of Wonder Woman (aka William Moulton Marston). Well when he wasn't writing Comics was probably having kinky sex with his Wife and live-in Mistresses. Steve Trevor being a submissive man and wonder woman herself probably had more to do with his Sex Fantasies than people are willing to admit.

reply

Exactly right. The entire thing is a male sub/dom masturbation fantasy.

In reality Wonder Woman would be disgusted at Steve Trevor and would grind her heels into his face....which William Moulton Marston would quite enjoy

You sound so insecure and immature.

reply

It wouldn't be the first movie about a female superhero to flop so, troll fail?

What's missing in movies is same as in society: a good sense of work ethic and living up to ideals.

reply

Catwoman and Elektra aren't feminist icons like Wonder Woman (most likely because they're not from a race of man-hating lesbians who murder their sons).

reply

Don't blame the feminists for that, blame the Greeks.

reply

Side note: Did you think Catwoman was as bad as everyone said it was.
Electra was just flat out putrid but I thought Catwoman was entertaining in the level of the old Batman TV show.

reply

The old Batman show was actually good. Catwoman was *beep* in so many ways.

Elektra, as a movie, was at least gorgeous to look at

reply

The old Batman TV show was sh!t, so that argument falls apart instantly.

I don't give a f*@K about a troll who doesn't pay for his opinion telling me how to review movies.

reply

I never said that the old Batman TV show was any good.
But it's fun to watch, though.

reply

Its fun to watch Batman getting raped?

I don't give a f*@K about a troll who doesn't pay for his opinion telling me how to review movies.

reply

I don't remember that happening on the old show.
Are you sure we're talking about the same show here ?

reply

Yeah, they cast Adam West, put him in a crappy costume, had him act like William Shatner as opposed to the character we know and love, gave him a crappy bat mobile, and generally make Batman and Robin look oscar worthy.

So yeah, they raped Batman.

I also consider the film Catwoman to be a rape as well.

I don't give a f*@K about a troll who doesn't pay for his opinion telling me how to review movies.

reply

Okay. I understand what you mean now.
I'm not a comic book fan or have any real knowledge of them. I just know the basics on the usual popular characters. (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman) I didn't even know who Thor or Iron Man was until the movies hit the screens.
I'm just your average moviegoer and TV viewer so how I see the movies and shows based on comics differs from many passionate comic fans. I can judge the movies and shows by their merits, good or bad.

reply

To be honest, Batman comics were pretty cheesy in the Silver Age. Maybe not to the extent of the Adam West series but not a million miles from that either.

reply

They raped Batman.

I don't care about a troll who doesn't pay for his opinion telling me how to review movies.

reply

Sh!t, I already blame white guys for everything!

reply

true that. I just hope she has a outfit the heavyset guys can wear to the comicbook shows.

reply

it wont !! mark my words ,. u know why ?? because it has a director new to the comic book movie ., yes its a merit i fail to see how the studios fail to see that.,..,

reply

Well half the white guys want her to have more muscles, and the other half a larger chest.
