nevermore film festival (durham, nc)

cool cave shots, storyline drags in a few places, etc also, lighting in the cave(s) must've been an issue....wondering if this was loosely based on 'the descent?'

Storyline? what storyline? They go in to a cave, get attacked by some idiotic 'monster', scream, have annoying flashbacks and die?

the lightning was an issue i think because it was terrible in so many levels it sickens me.

I saw this at Nevermore also. I had not seen "The Cave" or "The Descent" but I'm sure they are similar, except for what is lurking in the cave. This film has one of the darkest endings I've ever seen. Much like "Night of the Living Dead". The claustrophobic cave and constant dread give it a true feeling of despair and hopelessness. Certainly not a perfect film, but well worth seeing. By the way, this movie has been released on DVD in the U.S. under the title "The Cavern".

I haven't even watched the whole thing. I lost interest about 30 minutes in when the camera started shaking violently and flashes of indiscernable images lit up the screen. If someone recommended this movie to me I would be knocking on their doorstep demanding the 30 minutes of my life back that I wasted watching this film.

If you get to see the behind the scenes production diaries you'll see most of the "caves" were sets. Lighting was an issue because they made it one. They wanted to give a true representation of a cave's darkness, but that doesn't always translate well to a movie.
