Why did Eve go on the killing spree and why did she hate jack? With no captions i was totally lost with the accents.

Jack was a defence lawyer. Eve had accused her ex-boyfriend, Vincent, of raping her because he had broken up with her. Jack was Vincents Lawyer and proved that Eve was lying.
So...she killed Vincent and also had already killed Jack's wife (the so called suicide in the car) and was going after his daughter, Faith, for revenge.
I'm a Lieutenant Detective in, uh, Homicide. That's a fancy name for murder.
