The Cinematography ruined it - SPOILERS

I know that there's already a thread about how it was nearly impossible to see what was going on, but some clown turned it into a sh*ttin' match about the movie in general.

The choices of excessive back lighting and excessive, rapid camera movement made this tough to watch.

Back lighting is great when it's used to make a menacing figure more menacing, but in The Sickhouse it was a main means of lighting rather than an occasional technique.

Therefore, it was tough to see what the characters were doing and often even which character was who.

The hand-held camera moving back and forth erratically and sloppily made it even more difficult to watch.

As for the English accents, I usually have no problem understanding what Brits are saying, but the vast majority of the dialogue was frantic, which made much of it quite intelligible, and English is my native tongue.

The pace of the dialogue coupled with the poor choice of lighting made it difficult to watch.

The concept of the Plague Doctor was excellent. I've seen the drawings of them many times and find them to be very creepy.

With the exception of the two lighting torches at the end, the script was mostly passable.

The acting was adequate.

I do not like remakes of most movies, but I would like to see somebody remake this one.

Cheers...

I believe you're absolutely right, the plot and acting was quite alright but the filming was horrible. Most of the time I just couldn't see what was going on which spoiled both the story and the horror-effect.

Totally agreed. I watched it to the one hour mark and couldn't stand any more. I have a splitting headache because of this crap.
