What exactly was the test? If it were the test, then all the protagonist's boyfriend saw was just the woman's hallucinations? Or did she save her boyfriend from the hands of the demons?

I think that was a typo. I think he meant "so she COULD die"...that is make her peace before moving on.
shareHorrible you say, for me it was an act of mercy, keeping people alive against their wishes is just a selfish act by the relatives, nothing more, you are probably gonna flame me for this to make yourself feel better and make me the sick and twisted.
