Any girls (Latinas) here who DIDN'T have a quinceanera?

I'm a high school senior of Mexican/Spanish descent and I didn't really get to have one for by 15th birthday (I just went to a simple dinner at some restaurant). But hearing other girls go on and on about the beautiful dresses, dancing, limos, and delicious food they had at theirs makes me feel sad and left out :-(

Don't.

I had more fun doing my own thing. My sister didn't have one either. She just had a big party and that was just as fun.

I love mankind. It's the people I can't stand.

Nope never did.
But I don't speak spanish or celebrate Cinco De Mayo either.
And I'm 100% Mexican...my parents more or less assimilated.

I had a sweet 16 party though, but that was merely a bunch of my friends in the basement.

I've found that Cinco de Mayo is more of an American holiday, only really celebrated here. There is almost a zero observance of the holiday in Mexico lol

I visited Tijuana only once in my life. It was 1961. A coworker asked if I wanted to go with him while he got tuck-and-roll upholstery, which was the big rage back then, in his '55 Chevy. It turned out to be the 5th of May. There was a parade. The local Mexican National Guard turned out, plus a whole lot more. I would hesitate to say that there was zero observance. Back then, at least.

Border towns don't count, same with resort towns whose economy is solely (or mostly) dependent on foreign (mostly American) tourism.

I didn't have a quinceanera because I didn't want one. It was not my thing. My parents gave me the choice of having one or going on a vacation wherever I wanted.

Of course I chose the vacation.

As for Cinco de Mayo, it's my birthday, so of course I celebrate it! haha

I had gone to a quinceanera about 5 months or so before mine(I saw all the presents) so I asked my parents about it and they said no. I honestly didn't care. Money was an issue and I am non religious. (You have to get your confirmation don't you?) Anyways, they said we could go to Mexico for my first time instead to visit family. Didn't end up going because of personal matters.
