Is Shiny the worst development team of all time?

Enter the Matrix was trash. This was almost as bad and they had two years in between. How any game developers can take the Matrix license and make a forgettable and ultimately terrible game, not once, but twice is beyond me.

The shooting in this game is some of the worst I've ever seen. The guns muzzle flashes are red, they sound terrible and there aren't any shells. The lock on system is totally broken, and aiming is useless. There's a fraction of the guns that were in Enter the Matrix, which is insane.

The graphics are horrible. The levels don't have any polish. It's like this game was never even tested. The collision detection is way off, the levels look like crap (the chateau looks better in Enter the Matrix), and the enemies and character models are even worse, not to mention they don't even match the characters in the movies. (Look at the guys in the chateau level)

There are way too many training levels, too many pointless, nonsensical and unnecessary levels (the one at congress, the chinese street level, any of the levels with ants, etc.) and once you get to the only good parts of the movies worth playing, they aren't anything special at all. The Lobby shootout was done better in Max Payne MODS in 2001.

The only semi-good aspect of the game is the hand to hand fighting, but even that gets old, and it can't redeem this awful game.

Don't misinterperet me, I'm a Matrix fan and I played through this game, hoping it would get better, but it just kept getting worse. The level where you fight Seraph on top of a bunch of sticks and then in front of a movie screen? What the hell were they thinking? They couldn't even stay true to the action scenes of the films.

Everything about this game is bad, everything. I'm not even going to go into the giant agent smith made of cars and the "new ending" (which they promote on the back of the box). I heard Shiny is out of business now, and they deserve to be, they ruined what could have been some of the best games of the last few years. So much wasted potential. Does anyone agree with me or am I wrong for expecting something good?

Earthworm Jim, EWJ2, Wild 9, MDK, Sacrifice, Messiah pretty nulls your claim that its the worst company.

You have to know that after MDK in 1997, half of the team left so thats why now the team really sucks and David Perry who CEO of the company, cant save really save his company without his other half that are now called Planet Moon Studios.

Didn't know that, now things are finally starting to make sense. Its really too bad (and hard to believe) that the Wachowski's stayed with Shiny AFTER Enter the Matrix was made though.

MDK and Earthworm Jim were great, if only that split never happened we'd probably have at least one classic Matrix game. What a shame.

As a Matrix fan, I really try to keep getting into these games, but they just aren't doing a lot for me. Maybe I'm just more into my PS3 now. I don't know.
