I did see it actually, before I came back here. It wasn't nearly as good as I had been hoping!

I really enjoyed this film---I thought it was sweet and funny, and I was surprised that I'd never heard of it considering that Wayne Brady's in it ( I happen to think he's extremely talented (actor/excellent singer/former talk show host) and I think he really dosen't get the parts that he should get--that's why it was nice to finally see him in a lead role in a quality flick for once. The IMDB review I read before coming here is ridiculous (if you're read it) because, for one thing,it claims that the guy ends up with the girl he's been going after for the whole film----hell,that's the plot of the average romantic comedy--duh! I don't get what's so bad about this flick---plus it was nice to see a film about black folks that wasn't a gangster 'hood flick (thank God)I don't know why some folks on this board don't like it.
That"s messed up that the crew didn't didn't get paid for their work on it (I just read the thread about it).

reply

That is not true the crew did get paid. There were tough weeks and some of the venders are still being paid. But it is being worked out. The cast is the last to get paid.

My husband was the DP on this movie and he is still owed (as of today, July 5, 2008) at least $10,000 from you and the other producers for back wages and camera rental.

Did his check get lost in the mail???

Graham should have kept the film until they got paid, but unfortunately, your threats of bodily injury to him made him think twice about it. He should have taken his chances.

Please note: The casting fees for the background actors (extras) was never paid.
Not only did this hurt our overhead, but also our credibility. Two + months of work remains unpaid to myself & staff.
We had to direct many calls to the labor standards enforcement board /claims & the Screen Actors Guild for months after our work should have ended.

Calls to production are not returned and production is long since shut down. These people give the entertainment business and Hollywood a bad name.

Although I saw the film multiple times on the "family" chanel under a new title, no one seems to be able to resolve the payroll issues. By the way, the payroll company was hurt by this company as well. They covered payment in advance for much of the talent.... They are owed 10 times what we are!

Best of luck to those of us trying to get paid for this project 2 years ago :-(

I'm so sorry to hear that. Believe me, we feel your pain. I too am sickened that this movie was able to be bought by Warner Bros. and shown on the Family Channel and is on DVD now and SOMEONE made money off of it but none of us have been paid. We have a lien against them but apparently it doesn't mean squat. It just goes to show you how crappy this business can be.

I would like to set a record straight here. I personally have not seen one penny from this production. I have lost over 600K in this venture. If you are looking for your money look at Alex Ross and Duncan Napier- Bell and you can. Go after them in London, start calling and writing to Edit-Hire [email protected] in London. They have a company Watch this movie LLC that is who you need to go after. WTM LLC. was given the rights by Alex and Duncan and that is where the money is at. ImperfectLLC has nothing they moved everything into WTMLLC.

Well, years later, now June 2014 and I see now that viewers can pay to watch it on Amazon.com.
What the ****?
Seriously? Even time won't heal this wound.

My major concern is how are these people are still making movies when they never paid the crew for a project back in 2007?
Carol Grant - Extras Casting

reply

Jack- I can't believe you have the nerve to say that and post it online. I'm not paid for my two and a half months of work on the film. The payroll for the extras for the entire movie, which was fronted by the payroll company was not paid. You are a very sick, very sad, pathetic lying man. How do you look in the mirror?

Yes, That is Right I got paid about 25% of what the producers owe me. It came from a law firm in the form of a check. When I called to verify the check the law firm said there will be more money maybe in the future depending on how the movie does.
