i dont know is it only me who didnt understand it or everyone just forgot it because it was at the very beginning but that little girl at the beginning wasnt that mimikos little sister form the first movie ? who was that creppy woman/girl with the umbrella that came to pick her up and to whom said that little girl bye bye and waved with her hand ???

But the little girl said something about when it rains it had to do with spirits somehow - the subs on my version were kind of sketchy. I think the little girl saw the ghost of the day care workers dead twin sister.
Possibly the little girl was able to see things like ghosts - either born with it or young children can see things adults can't.
Not sure about the mother ...
