DVD? Help please

Where can you buy the dvd for this? What stores carry it?

reply

apart from the main BS site itself, it occasionally crops up on eBay now and then. It's pretty rare there, but occasionally they have it.

reply

futureshop.ca and brokensaints.com both sell it. As far as I know, it is ONLY available online. So, if you are willing to buy it online, which I did, then go for it, otherwise, you are out of luckj.

It's available in real futureshop stores, although not always. Some locations don't have it. Look for an announcement about international retail distribution soon though, they're doing a new DVD version for american and european stores.

reply

Since I posted that, brooke burgess has personally confirmed with me, and then publicly announced they have international distribution, including a few tweaks to the DVD that will be released in spring. Including full Commentary and new art.

reply

Yeah everybody wait for the Spring edition.

Broken Saints is going to be available on August 1st...you can get it at Suncoast stores or fye (most of 'em are in malls). It'll be a 4 DVD set, 12 hours of footage. From what I understand there will be a free comic book avail for the first customers at those stores.

reply

Thats gonna be the second release. They stopped making the original and just let them sell out

Here are the details on the August 1st release..

Resembling a “graphic novel brought to life,” Broken Saints is a hypnotic visual feast that fuses art with comic-style text, deeply compelling story, haunting music and cinematic effects into a revolution in modern storytelling that is “eye-popping…innovative…mesmerizing” ( Entertainment Weekly ), “impressionistic, moody, lyrical” (National Public Radio) and a “brooding piece of web noir” ( Wired ). A testament to the incredible narrative freedoms of Flash animation as well as the influence of the Internet as a creative force, the original web premiere of Broken Saints has received over five million visitors, universal critical acclaim and numerous awards, including the Audience Award For Online Animation at the 2003 Sundance Film Festival and Producer Of Year at the 2005 Canadian New Media Awards.

Available in a stylish, first-of-its-kind collectible outer packaging, the four-disc collection features the complete 12-hour Broken Saints series in its entirety, plus digitally enhanced graphics and sound including two alternate audio tracks that offer viewers with two distinct viewing experiences - the Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround remastered original audio featuring text/music only along with a newly recorded narrated version of the series as well. In addition, the DVD is packed with hours of comprehensive behind-the-scenes bonus features about the creation of this instant cult-classic animated epic including full 12-hour series commentary from the creators, in-depth featurettes, hilarious fan films, extensive DVD-ROM features, hidden easter eggs and more. Visually stunning, masterfully told and viscerally thrilling, Broken Saints features the voice talents of William B. Davis (Cigarette Smoking Man from “The X-Files”), Kirby Morrow (“X-Men: Evolution”), Scott McNeil (Bionicle 3: Web of Shadows), Michael Dobson (“Transformers: Cybertron”), David Kaye (“Dragon Ball Z”) and Emmy Award-winner Janyse Jaud (“Andromeda”).

I'm sure the set will be at all the B&M stores and online. I'd guess the price will be around $35 since amazon currently has it for pre-order (release date is august 1st which is this coming tuesday) price of $35.43. I'll proabably pick it up on tuesday at bestbuy or circuit city, whichever is cheaper. I've only seen portions of the 24 episodes, but the originality and design was amazing. I'd definetly looking forward to tuesday's release.
