Just bought this today

honestly I never heard of Broken Saint. However today as I was shopping in Walmart, when acrossing the dvd section, this boxset caught my eye.

I don't know why, but I got deeply attracted by the art style. I had to buy it down, lol.

Hopefully I'll enjoy this, cant wait to watch(read?) it now ^_^

I picked it up yesterday. Please tell us how you like the series so far. I'm up to Chapter 15, and extremely impressed with it so far.

In other words, Steven Segal is too strong for you and you give up.

Alright! I finished watching Broken Saints!

Overall I really enjoyed this series. I took my time to watch the whole series.

The ending actually gave me a good emotional impact which could sometimes be hard to achieve in today's entertainment industry.

I have to admit though, I did not really get into the story plot until late DVD disc 1/early DVD disc 2. For me, the story started to get quite interesting from there onward.

I liked the art style, which seems to be a mixture of western cartoon and eastern anime. The style do vary, but I could see the quality keep evolving. Towards the later episodes of the story, I could easily forget that I was watching a "comic book" but not an "anime".

The story itself is quite interesting too, although I do feel I have seen many similar things on other platforms, Broken Saints does have enough plot twists like the backstory on the Fiji Island that made it stand out.

One thing I thought Broken Saints could improve a bit would be the voice over though. Sometimes I do wish a character would speak with more "urgency", I get the feeling sometimes and I thought "I probably wouldn't speak that slow when in that kind of conversation."

The character development was really great, toward the end of the story, I really cared about what would happen to each character.

can't think of much else now, when I think of some other thoughts I'll post them up.

Overall : I really enjoyed it, glad I spent 39 bucks for it! :)

This is due to the fact that they have to match the pace of the dialogue balloons, which are timed for reading, not acting.

I imagine it was quite difficult for the actors to try and act naturally, but at an odd pace.

The plus side is that it makes it all the more trippy and creepy with everyone speaking like you're on drugs.

I think the voice acting is very well done, but I'm now watching it without the Voices as I think it's a much better experience that draws you in as you flow with the text and images.
Watching it with the voice overs on makes the series play like some odd, slowly paced anime.

Hi! I'm.... Tommy, and I'm your friend to the end. Hi Di Ho. Ha ha ha.

Broken Saints definitely kicks ass. Everything from the concept to the philosophical messages thrown in here and there with top-notch acting to the artwork and eerie music, it's the total package. I first watched the original web series in its entirety off the BS site, before I got this. So, I was already well aware of what to expect story-wise. It's just the presentation and upgraded features that made it so refreshing.
