Is this a sequel or remake of the terrible 1988 movie with Rod Steiger about the kids who crash on an island with a crazy murderous family?

shareThe 1988 movie was some crappy horror film akin to the "Hills Have Eyes" or "Texas Chiansaw Massacre" about a bunch of inbred religious folk who live on an island and become murderous pyschopaths. I was suprised that someone like Rod Stieger would have done such z-grade crap. At least HHE & TCM were original.
