The people and families in the US vs the ones in Canada. S16E07 Kevin.

Is it just me or are the families in Canada so much more emotionally connected with the person being intervened on? They seem to care more about the person and the situation then the ones in the US do.

The one recently Season 16 episode 7 with Kevin was a tear jerker. You could tell that everyone in the room was hurting so bad and they all genuinely cared. Some of the ones in the US have just given up hope and it was more of a chore to be there. There havent been any really good heavy episodes in a while but this last one was. Maybe its just me.

They do seem like they are more invested in their loved one getting sober, however it also seems like a lot of the ones from Canada don't succeed in getting sober. At least this season, I think only 1 so far has made it to like 90 days and they were able to show us, the after. The others leave treatment pretty quickly, the saddest one was the woman who would shoot up with her kids present, she was something else, I wasn't surprised she didn't last. Her husband should have took the kids and ran a long time ago, he should have dropped her off at her boyfriend's house and let her be his problem.

I do agree. My family, and even my husband's family, are the most apathetic, and even VILE people in the world, or so I thought. It's most of America really, especially iif you're of Caucasian descent. (Don't believe me? Pick up any ECE book on cultural diversity and it will tell you the same thing.)
