Concerning the axing of UPN and WB into CW

I loved your post delglenn, it was very refreshing hearing from a different point of view

"I'm a white male, 34, who enjoys shows like Cuts, Half and Half, All of US, and even Girlfriends MUCH more than I enjoy crap like 7th Heaven, Everwood, Gilmore Girls, or One Tree Hill... but I bet we can expect to see more of that type of show. *snore*"

I aggee with you in saying that more types of shows like One Tree Hill, 7th Heaven, Everwood and Gilmore Girls will most likley pop up but I strongly belive that maybe the T.V execs will get that
1) these shows are boring as hell and predictable seeing how they've been done before
and that
2) the "black" or urban viewing demorgafic IS worth going after. Since there is no longer a network that caters to african-americans, these viewers are now more than ever looking for shows they can relate too. I REALLY hope they get that.

Cuts and Love Inc. both had original ideas are were quite enjoyable to watch too. It's a shame

"I'm a white male, 34"

what kind of "white guy" has a screen name "RocketGirl70 "

this is so stupid they "cut" all the good unique and interesting show and took all the stupid overdone shows to cw how retarded.

The shows they kept are the ones that have the audience figures in the demographics that support them.

It's not the networks fault America chooses to watch what they do.

I agree.

Too many shows get overlooked in favor of the pablum the American public wants to be fed. However, the networks should take some responsibility. If creators don't step up and push to be able to do something creative, then the networks will continue to produce more and more shows that look exactly alike.

I still have faith that the American public is looking for something different, but they just don't know where to find it. It gets glossed over by shows that are cheaper to produce and therefore have more bucks left for promotion.

This is not the way it should be. Networks should be using the money left over from producing a cheap reality show to support something with originality and imagination until it meets its fan base.

Also: with shows like Gilmore Girls, One Tree Hill, etc. Are they affected by the writer's strike or do they just make photocopies of the scripts from two years prior?

Cuts and Love Inc. are definitely 2 shows that should have transferred over to air on CW after UPN! They were popular shows! The network was stupid to think they weren't good. That's what's wrong with the ratings system, it's faulted! I know, I work in TV for CBS & CW stations!
