Any French fans here to enlighten me? That was the song Bart sang to the goat:

« Je te tiens, tu me tiens, par la barbichette ;
Le premier de nous deux qui rira aura une tapette ! »

What's this all about?? Is this like the "freeze" game that kids play?

And the goat bites him right after singing this!

So the director shot the short "La Barbichette" with three actors, one being Cassel and the other, Olivier Bartélémy who plays Bart in both films. Is there anything in common between these two films?

Yeah this is a game kids play by grabbing each other's chin, staring in each other eyes and the first one that laugh get slap by the other!

There's a similar one I knew as a kid. The point was that after the little rhyme, the first to speak lost the game.

T'si conte, t'si conte
La chienne a mon oncle
A chié s'a strappe
La strappe a cassé
Le paté a r'volé sur le pied de l'escalier
Le premier qui va parler c'est lui qui va le manger!

This is by no means proper France french, I'm from Ontario.

Simple translation:
my uncles dog *beep* on something, that something broke and the *beep* went flying to the bottom of the stairs. The first to speak will have to eat it.
Poetic, non?

Apparently the french spoken in canada is medieval french, it's like if i was to go to another country and everyone was speaking shakespearian/chaucer english, it sounds really funny to the french people apparently, i wish i could understand...

I can't tell you I know the history of Canadian French, but it really cannot be compared to Shakespearian English. What could be, is old French, which is very difficult to understand to a French speaker today.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I meant, so it totally IS as if they're speaking mediaeval french. It's not a BAD thing you unwillingly acceptable canadian: "We do NOT speak Mediaeval French!! how DARE thee!! We speak with a mediaeval accent is ALL!!" So if I went to an island somewhere and everyone was speaking English with all the harsh vowels of the Middle English Language, I would still find that really funny, no need to be upset about this, are you PROUD to be canadian or something??? it doesnt mean i am a genius! It's an observation!! But I was still right hehe
