Better than I thought

First lemme say, I dislike ****alot**** of modern anime. Bleach, Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist.. etc etc. I'm partial to the "old school." Stuff from the 70s and 80s like Galaxy Express 666, Fist of the North Star, Ranma 1/2 etc. I'm even fond of Studio Ghibli and that company who made the Highlander anime because their styles aren't silly or cutesy.

I was channel surfing on my day off and I saw the word "Gokusen" on the channel guide. Having nothing better to do, I tune in. I never laughed so hard in my life. I was very pleased to see it's not even remotely similar to other stuff out there. The humor, sight gags.. all reminiscent of 80s anime.

And the theme song! It's done like the themes from yakuza serials in the 70s! I LOVE IT.
