I actually sighed when you said twilight came out last year. Anyway (says gently) twilight was a book, this was a book, this came out years before twilight. Twilights a movie, this was being made wayyyyy before twilight. Twilight has vampires and true love at its core. This has vampires, freaks and mr. tiny and i think betrayal as its core? Um a book getting its film rights bought doesnt count as a movie coming first. The rights to Watchmen were bought in about 1986, so does that mean Watchmen was the first big super hero film, even though it came out in 2008? Don't be retarded people.

Because everyone knew the Twilight film would be a success due to the amazing book sales. The Cirque Du Freak saga DIDNT have amazing book sales comparable to twilight. The Cirque du freak films studios tried to capitolize on the vampire craze generated by the twilight books, by rushing the film out and pushing it to be finished before the twilight film was released. They failed. Vampires assistant comes out a year later and bombs-thats called justice
shareCirque Du Freak had pretty good sales as well, just not in America. Remember, the Cirque series was first published in Europe, which is where most of its sales came in. Maybe they were trying to capitalize on THOSE sales, instead of Twilight's sales. You don't know for sure. None of us do.
Besides, the main point of this is that Cirque was NOT a copy of Twilight. Whether or not it capitalized on the current trends is irrelevant. 99% of movies today do that anyway, INCLUDING TWILIGHT!

How is it a Twilight 'copy'other than the fact that it has vampires in it that's as far as the similarities go. Cirque du Freak was out before Twilight the books were out first and the studio had the rights the only reason that the Twilight movie came out was because they were having script issues and such.
But in my opinion both movies sucked A** Twilight was just plain boring and in my opinion COMPLETELY UNORIGINAL for instance teen girl falls for vamp they go through trials and tribulations and such to stay...where have I NOT seen THAT before?
Cirque Du Freak (book) Kid agrees to be a vamp assistant to save his best friend, lives a circus, falls in love with a black chic (I am not racist but when do really see black main characters in a vamp story) I could go on and on about the none similarities this is the movie we're talking about.
Cirque du Freak, the movie, however sucked because it was nothing like the book, although I will say that it better than that *beep* they dare call Queen of the Damned.
