Even though no one is here, I want to point something out.

On days when I have nothing to do I go back to old IMDb post and read over some, I've seen several topics about the ending of the books. Some people say the whole series was pointless because Darren, Steve, and Crespley never experience the events after Darren goes back as a little person. Others say the events still happened (which they did, as the book said) just not to Darren and Steve and all of them.

The series wasn't pointless, yeah Darren and Steve got their happily ever after bla bla bla, but someone didn't get a happily ever after. Someone did go through these events just as Darren did. Some people seem upset that the memories won't be with these characters, and Harkat won't look back at the events and remember being with Darren, this is true, because at the end of the series Darren wasn't the person who did all of these things.

**Here's what I want to point out. In the first book, it starts out saying something along the lines of "The names in these books are not the real names, they are different for a reason, at the end of the series you will understand." Could Darren possibly be saying the reason these are not the real names are because he wrote the journals about himself, Darren Shan, experiencing these things, but at the end after he goes back he not longer experienced them but someone else did.

These are just my thoughts, maybe I'm reading to much into the first book. I just wanted to point these out :)

Interesting ideas and goes along with the whole theme throughout the series of...how much is predestined and how much can we determine ourselves about what will happen?
