Who would you cast?
Who would you pick for joker, harvey dent and penguin?
shareOh, this is half the fun with the Batman films, isn't it? Trying to work out who's going to get cast in the next one.
Well, there have been a number of actors suggested for those roles so far, and the ones that I like the sound of are:
Crispin Glover as the Joker
Liev Shreiber as Harvey Dent
Bob Hoskins as the Penguin
However, by the time the film actually comes out, they'll have probably chosen someone completely different for all three parts. Remember how many actresses were in the frame to play Catwoman prior to Batman Returns (I counted three, Madonna, Sean Young and Jody Whatley) before the part finally went to Michelle Pfeiffer?
Yeah,but she really only got the part because annette bedding got pregnant. She was going to play catwoman. But I still see what you mean.

It's quite interesting to speculate about what the various films would have been like had certain parties been cast in the hero/villain roles. Excluding the ones who actually got the parts, and the aformentioned potential Catwomen, I've counted quite a number of rumoured actors/actresses who never got to fill the tights:
Batman - John Travolta, Clint Eastwood, Eminem, Cillian Murphy
Robin - Johnny Depp, Leonardo DiCaprio
The Riddler - Robin Williams, Paul Reubens
The Penguin - Bob Hoskins, Paul Reubens, Philip Seymour Hoffman
Poison Ivy - Julia Roberts
Two-face - Billy Dee Williams, Liev Schreiber, Jake Gyllenhaal
Catwoman (the movie) - Ashley Judd
The Scarecrow - Ewan McGregor, Christopher Eccleston
The Joker - Robin Williams, Sean Penn, Paul Bettany, Crispin Glover, Steve Carrell
Some of these may have been red herrings, though, and no doubt I've missed a few.
