Any books like this?

I'd be really interested in this as well... !

I have also wondered that and been on the lookout. There are definitely plenty that have an element or two, but I've yet to find one that is truly in the same vein. Same goes for movies, I wish there were more out there like this.

A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier by Ishmael Beah is a great read. Its less about politics and more about the life of a child soldier. The book is a first person account of a kid who was stripped from his parents and forced to fight for the rebels. Eventually the kid is saved and even goes in front of the U.N to make a speech. If you thought Blood Diamond was graphic this book is on another level. One of the saddest most horrific books I've ever read.
