Underated!
I was shocked to see the rating was only 6.7, when it's such a well written, acted and shot movie, that was quirky and funny, but gritty and real at the same time.
P.S. Just my opinion.

Exact my opinion, for me this is one of willis best movies!
Have to agree. It's a little bit underated.
shareWell written? I guess other then the fact that the premise makes absolutely no sense whatsoever, it is.
shareCaught it for the first time last night - excellent!
One of the best films I've seen in a long while.
Mind you the curmugeonly DingusStudley doesn't appear to watch a lot of movies or be able to follow a narrative.
You're an idiot. If you bothered to read through my topic on this board you'd see that my complaints are well founded(or at least legitimate). Why don't you go and address those instead of mindlessly insulting me and making baseless assumptions.
Troll.
I respect your dislike of people expressing opinions that don't chime with your interpretations. Be that as it may, please demonstrate a minute respect for others thoughts. Your response paints a picture only a reader can interpret. BTW, the best scene (regardless of your opinion) is the bottle shattering. Food for thought!
shareIt was way to American for me. The whole "people can change" thing was just to much. It was also highly predictible and unoriginal. I felt I had seen it before all the way even though I never had, and some scenes were taken almost straight from other movies. I rated it 5/10
shareunoriginal? yes in the premise, not in the development... what starts as almost "The Gauntlet" remake soon takes a detour to explore prejudices and redemption. The movie has a couple of plot twists that doesn't make much sense - the cops not being more discrete in Chinatown when shooting and the character of Willis SPOILER being one of the accused SPOILER - but I thought that the strong direction and acting actually kept the movie solid. Mos Def and Willis do great performances making the characters three-dimensional, and making the movie better than the screenplay. Mos Def is certainly growing on me, I think he's in collision course with prestige and Oscars any time soon... "Be Kind Rewind" actually may be his definitive push to land prestige roles. Or hopefully, the guy certainly knows how make a character likeable...

Agree, but the way they deliver the story makes it much better than predicted, I would say about 7.5-8/10
now this is acting: http://www.imdb.com/media/rm2458172160/tt1528718
I gave it a 7. Again, just an opinion. But it wasn't quite as good as I'd hoped. Can't quite put my finger on what it was. I still liked it though.
"Hey! Ladies! That was fun!"
I second that... this movie definitely deserves better than 6.7.. I am not getting down on the plot holes.. its definitely a very good movie.. guess all the die hard fans did not like a run down bruce willis ..
I don't drive fast, I just fly low.
A thriller with a crap script (see plot hole number 1: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0450232/board/thread/113777343) is a crap movie, an action movie with crap action is a crap movie. Its neither classy nor cheesy, just another movie you don't mind seeing once. What would you define as it strengths, I am intrigued.
shareI thought it was very good movie. Willis & Mos Def were great in here. I agree I think it is underrated, the story was great as well. I can't understand what it was that some people didn't like about it. I loved the movie and the twists as well.
"I am the ultimate badass, you do not wanna `*beep*` wit' me!" Hudson in Aliens.
i gave it a 10, just because of criminaly low rating here. It was a very good movie.
