Surprisingly good

Enjoyed Willis and Mos Def's acting, enjoyed the twists and turns of events (although most are predictable) and thought the end was very touching.

I also thought that the corrupt cops had pretty good teamwork and was efficient in their searches so that was good too.
The action sequences aren't exactly spectacular but it was serviceable.
Overall, solid entertainment.

Agree. Not a great movie, but Mos Def was completely believable and BW was solid playing a less than desirable character. Movie got better as it went on imo, even if it was predictable. The writing was good and the direction from RD solid and well paced.

All in all, much better than I thought it would be.

Personally I have been pleasantly surprised. I've found it amazing, especially the last part until the end included. The scene at the restaurant was predictable but well performed. Quite moving actually. I loved it.

Putting aside the underlying premise that cops could chase and shoot at another cop and his charge for 90 minutes during peak hour New York and not draw a hell of a lot of other police and media attention until near the climax, I think this is a really engaging storyline, with some good twists and as noted earlier, a really moving conclusion.🐭
