Love this movie so much. Such a beautiful and wonderfully acted film. It's cinema at It's best. Truly a perfect movie

shareAgreed. I initially gave it an 8 after watching it once but a 9 after watching it for a second time.
My favourite scene is about half-way through when she gets her big break and there is a full 30 seconds of a frightened Edith behind the microphone. As she finally opens her mouth to sing the director brilliantly switches to 'silent mode' and we see Edith silently singing (with Cotillard's expressive face and Edith's mannerisms) underscored with a delicate piano arrangement which subtly reflects the slowly changing audience mood and then the triumph of her debut. A brilliant three minutes of cinema.
