Marion Cotillard's performance transcends cinema. It's miraculous.

Ive seen this movie countless times. I have always found Ms Cotillard to be an immensely beautiful woman. I rooted for her to win the Oscar and was head over heels when she did. I have followed her roles since and never has she matched the power she achieved here. She has had remarkable roles - but this performance is something else.

Rewatching it, I'm still struck by her physicality - the old woman she becomes... I don't think there has ever been a more convincing portrayal of an elderly woman, nor an actor disappearing to such an extent as Marion does here. Even in her early scenes as a street singer, her looks, voice, mannerisms are so perfectly nuanced. Not for one MOMENT do I see Marion in the performance. I try every time I watch to see her acting. It's impossible.

More so than the other great roles I've seen, this is perhaps the best acting yet put to film. Does everyone agree with me? Even Meryl in Sophie's Choice, Charlize in Monster... I think this is the more astounding performance.

Best of the year:Inside Out, Whiplash, 12 Years a Slave, Life of Pi, Drive

I agree that it's miraculous.. she was convincing throughout the entire film and I was mesmerised by her performance. She deserves more great roles like these for a display of her extraordinary acting talent
