KANK deals with REAL issues!!!! Are we afraid of reality???

This movie deals with real life issues!! Only conservative indians feel the film is wrong. These things happen my parents are divorced and both are happy with different people!!! Karan Johar did an amazing job with this movie!! Rani and Shahrukh were amazing together their chemistry is stronger than any I have ever seen!!! But Abhishek did the best with his performance!!! Overall This is Karan's best movie ever!! Performances were amazing except Priety she was kinda stiff and wierd. But Rani, Shahrukh, AbhiShek and Amitabh (sexy sam was awesome) their performances were amazing!!! Hats off this is Karan Johar's finest work yet!!!! Amazing movie from beginning to end!!!!

LOL! in our so called culture these things happen daily - so it is very hypocritical to think one can hide one's head in the sand for ever and hope the culture remains unchanged!

reply

yes the indian culture still exists but sometimes they need a little dosage of "reality" karan did that with this film! i think its a brilliant film some may differ but i think it is done wonderfully. people need to realize times are changing. it always isn't going to be the same, you just have to learn to deal with it!

LOL! Sammo that is exactly what is wrong with people who go to movies expecting to see some idealized version of Indian culture. Please stop watching all cinema that is not made by the Barjatya clan - then you'll be very happy.

Lets forget the quality of the movie and deal with the central issue here...Infidelity and its acceptance...Its been around long and its only now that its out in the public eye that debates are sparked...the bottom line is that more married couples are accepting infidelity as an acceptable trend and consider divorce more often than not. No one's ready to concede any ground in a marriage and its more often than not based on sexual satisfaction within the marriage. typically using psychology to hide behind individual weakness of character is a common fact nowadays and the fact is no one wants to stay in a marriage that doesnt satisfy the individual sexually..then extra marital affairs are tagged with romance and passion...both highly misinterpreted words used to destroy the concept of love and togetherness....perhaps this very conclusion will aggravate those that read it but being well versed with psychology i can vouch for the fact that this particular problem is getting much worse and will soon overtake western countries in terms of seriousness and numbers....the movie just depicts a part of the current indian society and its upto the viewer to interpret whats right and wrong..

reply

Exactly. Still this is a "real" issue and could happen to anyone. Still don't "feel" the movie though.

I totally agree with Rani ... We are so bounded towards watching indian culture in the movies that we forget the actual reality .... Come on there are so many movies which is so not indian but still we watch them ....so why make such a moolah about this movie??? To be frank i hate Karan johar and his movies but i enjoyed this movie a lot becoz he showed the truth .... I know it will really difficult for some people to take this ..but if they sneak into their own society and ppl arnd them they will realize tht wht he has showed in the movie is actually the truth ..Truth Always hurt ... and Rani this is the first time i have seen you posting sumthing on which i can agree :P No offense but i hated you after yor posts on Amir khan ..But Bravo u changed my mind after this post ... No Offence PEACE ...

reply

sorry if I offended you with my Aamir posts - but it got a bit tiresome to keep hearing SRK bashing on the Aamir boards. Overacting can always be countered with underperforming, "alleged gay bashing" with marital infideliites - but do I really care about any of this? NADA! I think all this has pretty much stopped because everyone knows - and I quote myself "these are the twin pillars of mainstream Hindi films". We may like one more than the other but that is a matter of personal preference. It is all about who can bring characters to life for whom. I do like Aamir a lot, just like SRK more. And I'll take either over the current crop, and films like RDB, KANK, Don over c**p like Dhoom 2 any day.

reply

Yeah its absoulutely ok ... We all have our own prefrences cant force any one to like someone ... I dont have any issues if some one likes SRK or nana pataker or hrithik roshan but to be frank if u dont like them ...keep it to yourself dont just say bad things about them ... i know u told tht becoz ppl out there dragged shahrukh in between so its ok ..anyways Chill ...

reply

no one said anything bad about srk or hrithik i just said i lokve kabhi alvida na khena because its not a conventional indian movie! i think its karans finest work!

reply

I have known people like all these characters - except Sexy Sam thankfully! Sexy Sam was overdone but very funny to me - the other all too real.

No, they don't have to be perfect and they shouldn't be perfect. The most interesting characters are those are more realistic. Like Dev is more interesting character by Shahrukh than those Rahul characters in KKHH and K3G.

reply

Dev is like a real person - flawed but human.. Raj/Rahul is a fantasy persona that we would like to see in a man but that never really exists in real life.

reply

kind of tough on us aren't you? (lol)

reply

LOL! Are you really like Raj or Rahul? I would have loved to meet you 15 years ago!!!

reply

I tried to be - but didn't always succeed!!! (lol)

reply

Knew it was too good to be true. I have yet to met a real life Raj or Rahul who was also interesting!

reply

aw shucks! you do me great wronh! i am interesting... just not perfect!

reply

You misunderstood - it is only the perfect Raj Rahul persona that is uninteresting usually..

reply

you are wayyyyy tooooo funny!
