I agree! I just watched this movie and I really enjoyed it. I used to work at a movie rental place (Blockbuster Video) and they showed the preview for it on our televisions in store when it came out on video. I was very happy to see it, finally!
However, the sad reality of it is that if they do release it in America with subtitles, it won't have as large of an audience as you may think. When Pan's Labrynth was released here with subtitles, there were so many people that brought it up to the counter to rent it, but when we told them it was in Spanish with English subtitles, they didn't want to rent it anymore. I watched the movie and I LOVED it. To be honest, I got a little angry when people didn't want it BECAUSE it was subtitled. I got responses like "if they're going to have it in AMERICA it should be in ENGLISH!" and "If I wanted to read, I would get a book."
Ugh...Narrow-minded people. I like the idea of releasing with subtitles, but making it into an "Americanized" movie may open it to a much wider audience. It has a GREAT storyline.
Wow...I guess I ranted for a bit.
"Will, I told you...If you live with a hetero long enough...You're going to catch it."
