why so much hate? *spoiler*

I think it was great movie. I saw the movie without watching the trailer first though. Maybe that added a little more mystery/suspence. But the point is the movie had a great end twist. I guarantee no one knew they were all dead. Am i right?

reply

Yeah, you are right.
I'd never heard of the movie until the wife brought it home. Now I only wish I had never heard of that boring, very predictable movie.

Nothing wrong with loving the big JC, but being a fan of this movie calls for an even greater faith.

I really liked it too, so the arse with the smart comment should just keep it to themselves.

I'll never get over how people come on here and think it's okay for them to state their opinion, but when someone with a different opinion posts, they try to find some way to put the person down.

I actually liked it and didn't find it predictable. I actually thought she was the soul survivor dealing with split personalities/post traumatic stress...and it was actually her death she was facing. The acting was fairly awful-just my opinion-and the story slow paced but I still enjoyed it.

I was so disappointed in the movie, I never finished it. I figured she was a ghost when everyone ignored her in the hospital.

the whole movie ain't make no sense
the plot twist felt forced
it was way too boring and it almost feels like they're trying to stretch the plot in order to turn this flick into an 88-minute-long movie
the writers probably started off with something normal, you know another one of those how a person changes another person's life flick, then they realized that it's not long enough, so they had to make some changes here and there, resulting in this joke of a plot

I thought it was a cliched idea abysmally executed. Its about 10 years too late, the whole 'they were dead all the time' has been done to death. Anne Hathaway is a boring lead and the other guy just cant really act.
It was basically just a terrible rom-com hidden under a high-concept low-brow idea.

reply

Exactly. That right away gave the whole plot up.

I agree with you almost completely. Great beginning and a great ending. It was the middle part that bogged down for me - Eric and Claire's relationship did seem to drawn out. But that's me.

Otherwise, the ending had me sobbing uncontrollably. It made me think about some relationships I have that are not quite resolved (like Emma) and how I hope I do not have any regrets should something sudden happen (like a plane crash).

Everybody is entitled to their opinion, but don't let other opinions ruin a great moment for you. Some people experience and see things others don't. We are all wired differently.

For this movie I agree with you. I think it was a very good movie. It was suspenseful, romantic, and interesting. I did not know that she was dead and didn't think that anyone of the other "survivors" were dead either. The only thing i found fishy was in the beginning when they all walked out of the wreckage...i could only imagine that people would be hurt after a plane crash and not just a little dirty. Besides that I can imagine people being confused and not remembering who they are or who they knew. Overall good movie.

I've seen muuuuuuuch worse, but it was really dissapointing considering Anne's such a great actress. The plot could have been good but the scriptwriters just killed it with the ending, ugh.

I can't believe some of the recent movies I've seen that have made millions of dollars that are SOOO stupid, and yet I actually enjoyed this movie but didn't know that it was in theatres or anything. It was totally random that I saw it at RedBox and rented it. The production company should have promoted it way more, because it was so genuine and well-acted and overall really special. Also, in the beginning, not everyone ignored Claire. The dead ones didn't. But still, it wasn't that obvious.

I know it's been a while since this was posted, but... come ON. The only reason I didn't know it is because I figured there was no way they would've run that predictable, unoriginal, boring plot. Towards the end of the movie, I kept thinking, "it can't be that she's dead. That's so overdone." And then yet it was. Yawn.

I'm from the UK, and didn't even know this movie existed until I saw in on the shop shelves.

Anyway, I rented it last night and I have to say thay I enjoyed it very much. People go on about over used endings etc, but in my opinion an ending can be used as often as you like if it works. For me, it worked in this movie.

It gets you thinking.

My only criticism is that the middle seemed a bit stretched out, not overly so.

I would give it about a 7.5 out of 10.

I didn't know ANYTHING about this movie before I saw it. I hadn't seen the trailer. I didn't even know who was in it until it started. I still figured it out in the first 10 minutes, and thus found the slow and not in anyway mysterious unraveling of something I already knew (hoping the writers had pulled a fast one, and I was wrong) utterly boring.

I think it was a good premise/movie bogged down by a slow middle and poor editing in the relationship building section of the story. If they had trimmed that down a bit, they would have had a winner.

I enjoyed it because we stuck with it through the slow part. I'm also an Anne H. and a Patrick W. fan. I was glad we saw it through. Also it was nice to see David Morse turn out not to be a bad guy as he is usually cast.
