About that tattoo...

The things I wanted to know most about Danny Trejo were "When did you get that huge tattoo on your chest?","Who is that tatooed on your chest"?, "What is wtitten above that huge tattoo on your chest?", "If you had it to do over again, would you put that huge tattoo on your chest?", and "Have you lost any movie roles because of that huge tattoo on your chest?"

The bimbo interviewer never mentions the tattoo. Great job, you twit!

There are many many interviews that danny has done already that talk about that tattoo on his chest, no reason to talk about it when there were more important things to talk about. Feel free to google the info you are seeking and you can learn what you want to learn. there were many topics that couldn't have been talked about because then it would be a 3 part documentary series and it's impossible to make every viewer happy with the topics discussed.

Good Luck.

I'm afraid I have to disagree. For half of the interview, Danny had his shirt open or off and that tattoo, not his face, was the central focus. Perhaps talk of the tattoo has been overdone in the past, but the subject still should have been touched upon in a full-length documentary on the man. Sure, Danny Trejo has a very distinctive face, but that tattoo is his most defining physical feature. The only parallel I can come up with would be watching a 90-minute interview with John Merrick, the Elephant Man, where the interviewer never asks, "By the way John, what are those bumps on your head?"

reply

If the bumps are a focus of topic in John Merrick's documentary, well then I guess there must not be much to talk about.

The doc focused on topics not yet known about Danny, not re-iterating previous interviews which can viewed elsewhere.

It's unfortunate you were unhappy with the documentary because a topic particular to your interests was not discussed.

I disagree, his tattoo is not his most defining physical feature, it's his face, and even robert rodriguez agrees with that statement as he said it in the doc.

I really don't want to beat this subject into the ground, so this will be the last thing I have to say on the subject. Those bumps WOULD be the topics of a John Merrick interview because without them he would have been just another Industrial Revolution Era English guy with no real back story. Now, I'm not saying that Trejo's tatt is his main story, but I stand by the opinion it's his most defining physical feature. OK, forget Trejo the actor. You and a friend are walking down the beach and here comes Danny Trejo wearing nothing but a pair of cutoffs. He passes you and you turn to your friend and say:

A. "Did you see the strikingly rugged face on that guy?"
B. "Holy crap! Did you see that tattoo!?"

Hey, I don't know you. Perhaps, you would say (A). I'm a (B) guy, myself.

For what it's worth, after watching "Champion," I have nothing but respect for Trejo. He's a good actor, but an even better person.

He got the tattoo in prison, it's of a half naked latina woman, after prison he married his wife Debbie and had a daughter Danielle, both tattooed above the previous woman, perhaps Debbie made him do it. His son Gilbert also has a chest tattoo (he acts in Machete as the deaf artist thug kid)
