Good movie but...

i thought the movie was okay. the scenery was amazing though, and the songs were good. The female lead is in dire need of acting lessons. because she can't act, it reflects badly on salman, and makes him look years older than this character is supposed to be.

But, what really bothered me about this film was that there were two (or three i can't remember) scenes thaat were exact copies of scenes from the 1965 classic dr zhivago (which also takes place in Russia). it was the funeral scene and the scene where everyone rushes to get on the train. i thought it was shameful for the directors to take credit for it. anyone else has any opinions?

we can overlook film scenery from 40 years ago. However, having Salman simply not respond to Lucky is ridiculous! Except for dream sequences, we would never have known that Salman actually loved her. For example, when Lucky was running on the tracks back to him and she says that she loves him, all he can respond with is "I know". At the end of the movie he asks her if she's ready to go home and she answers that she is ready but only to go to his home!!! - and he has no answer!!!!! This is direction?

This was a good movie and I did enjoy it but it could have been so much better if the love story was finalized instead of leaving it in one-sided limbo.

i totally agree with you, was salman ashamed to express his feelings to her or something, cos he obviously likes her, maybe his love for her hasn't developed yet. i think they should do a part 2 to show what happened next, did she end up with him or was it really all one sided love?

thanks for your comment.
I believe he did love her - this was indicated in his dreams. Also, his actions.

He watched over her, protected her (or tried) and did his very best to keep her alive (sending her away on the train) and then running after the train!

But a hug at the end, a kiss on the cheek, or even a statement such as "Of course - I'll take care of it".

I pictured something such as the following:

[he hugs her at the bottom of the stairs]

[then they walk up into the plane]

[when being seated, instead of them splitting their ways going to their loved ones, they sit together]

and then he goes to his dad and says "We intend to get married immediately. Please invite her family to this coming function immediately (during their trip home). The father would look at him surprised, questioningly, and then show understanding in his face and just shake his head in agreement.

What do you think?
