Inapropriate music for the movie?

Why would there be English songs in the movie? That did not make any sense. If anything, it made the movie appear banal. Putting something as beautiful as this music in the movie only showed that movie was done sloppy and lacked nuances. Besides, that music is already famous in a different movie -- "Once". Having it in this movie is confusing and invokes different memories from the other movie...

WTF? Once was released in 2007. Beauty in Trouble was released in the Czech Republic in 2006. The music of Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova was originally made for Once, but since its release was postponed some of the songs made it into Beauty in Trouble. Why? Marketa Irglova is Czech, so why not have a music in the movie from a Czech artist?

That beauty of a forum is that everyone can post their opinion and everyone can disagree or agree.

I didn't like Bardem's haircut in No Country, since it reminded me of an already famous haircut, so it ruined the artistic merit of the movie.

Whose haircut, Frankenstein's?

I found it distracting. If one song had been used, I would have forgotten about it, but having more than one made it seem like a "Once" wanna-be, which is too bad because I really liked the film if I ignored the music.

Sounds like you're letting your own baggage and associations getting in the way. It's like bringing what you know or think about a certain actor's personal life into the theater. Songs are often recycled and reused in film. Look at how many films have used Requiem for a Dream music in previews. And it's nothing new. The 1940's noir film "I Wake Up Screaming" used Somewhere Over the Rainbow from "The Wizard of Oz," as an even more distracting example.

For me it wasn't that the songs were in English, but that some of them sucked and they didn't always fit the tone of what was on screen.

All I can think about are dudes.

I notice English songs in foreign movies a lot, so that wasn't a problem. But, yeah I kept thinking of Once, yet was grateful to hear the music again :)
